Default Barnes Expander vs. Precision?

Hey Guys
Which one of these is better for accuracy, knockdown, range, etc? The Barnes MZ Expander or the Precision Sabot. Thanks

I would go with the percision sabot for distance @ accuracy and plenty of power to spare.there new dead center bullet report was outstanding.check out there web site.www.prbullet.com

deer1,
I've used the barnes expander in my Knight .45,Its ok. I much prefer the hornady HP/XTP,at least in my Knight. It shoots very tight groups and expands VERY Well.Took 2 deer last year with that round. They both dropped in tracks.

Short Story on the Precision,
My buddy just bought a TC Black Diamond. He's never used a smoke pole.He bought a pack of Power Belts.I don't like em.Could never get a decent group in my TC Thunderhawk!!I bought 4 bags of various precision bullets last year.Haven't shot any before yesterday.

Any Way
He and I go out yesterday afternoon,he used the 295gr Power Belts. They flew everywhere.I shot the gun, same thing.Couldn't get a decent group.I recovered a few Sabots and found blow by and splitting - Not Good.

I pulled out a pack of MY Precision 300gr sabots I intended to try in MY TC.Made no scope or powder changes - Woo Whee those babys were on the money in 2 shots,no flyers.Pulled a couple out of tree, they mushroomed very nicely!! Found 2 Sabots,no blow by or splitting - That's Good.I'm sold these precisions.

Funny thing is I bought a pack of 195gr Power Belts to try in my .45 Knight.I'm lookin for a sabot I don't have to pound down the freekin barrel.I tryed these yesterday in the Knight.Figured I'd be wasting my time.Couldn't believe it.First 3 shots exactly as I'd shot last year with the Hornady 185gr,1" high at 75yrds.Go Figure??

aj:in 54cal thunderhawk made by t/c 1 in 38 twist the percision sabot 45 cal. in 350 grain shoot great.I also tried the harvester 330 grain flat nose keith bullet solid hard cast lead sabot ,quess what they gave percision a run for its money they also shoot outstanding.they grouped neck in neck at the 100 yard target with the percision.

I found my precisions at a very small outa the way gun shop.Owner is big hunter and the only guy around that still sells BP! He has whole rack of precisions. He's got stuff very few shops in state have,or sometimes even heard of!

Seems few hunters around here have discovered Precision name.Every body seems stuck on Power Belts.Power Belt, shiny, pretty bullet,
packaged nice and neat, very easy to load as long as you can get it to group.Pros,Cons on that subject depending on smoke pole in hand.

Admit it - Precision is an UGLY lead bullet packaged in a freekin zip lock bag.Might take awhile before this bullet catches on.

It's MB like HuntingNet that gets the word around about a new product that's HOT in the field.

Later AL

I shot my deer this year with a 235 grain PR QT .40 cal sabot with 100 grains Triple 7 3F (about 1850fps). Hit him about 3" behind and slightly above the front elbow. He was about 20 degrees quartering towards me. The entry wound was about 2x bullet diameter and it shattered a rib. The back half of both lungs and the liver were liquified and the heart had nasty lacerations from bone fragments. The exit wound was about 2.5" took out part of two ribs (went through the intercostal space). Couldn't find the bullet. He made it about 30-40 yards and the blood trail looked like something out of a "B" horror movie.

I'm sticking with PR bullets. I think that pure lead is the best thing for muzzleloader bullets on deer.
