RE: i got new omega
The main thing I do with any NEW rifle is read the manual cover to cover. Then I read the manual again. Make sure you know all the do's and don'ts of the rifle before you shoot it. Then I get some cleaning patches and clean the devil out of the rifle until there is no doubt in my mind that the rifle is spotless. I am sure you have done all this.
The breaking in can be done a number of ways. Also, some rifles simply do not need to be broke in. They will shoot just fine out of the box and you will not know this until you actually try them. Then again there are some rifles that seem to need a good shooting. I would recommend (if you try your rifle and it does not shoot well) getting some maxiball conicals. Then go out to the range with some loose powder (saving you a lot of money... pellets are very expensive) and shooting off the whole box of them using about 70 grains of powder is all. Accuracy at this point is not even important, all you want to do is knock the ruff spots out of the barrel (if there are any... and in your case with the quality of firearm you purchased, I will doubt it needs breaking in). Others shoot patched roundball to break in their rifles. The patch and ball again, knocks off the ruff spots if there are any. Another easy way is get some Scotch Brite Scrub pad and some J-B Bore Paste. Take a patch worm jag on the end of the ramrod. Put a small piece of the Scotch Brite on there, and dip that in the J-B Bore paste. Now work that in long strokes from end to end, through the bore of the barrel. Give it about 50 strokes and then go clean it. All you did was really polish the bore a little. Some call this a mild form of lapp. I use the bore paste also if I believe the barrel is getting leaded or has copper or plastic fowling. The Scotch Brite and a little J-B is a fast way to clean that stuff out of there.
The main thing is go out and shoot it. I see you like pellets. Save some money and get some loose powder. Also T/C Cheap Shots in 240 grain with about 100 grains of powder under them is a good way to break in the rifle, practice shooting the rifle, get to know the rifle, and are very accurate...
Most of all have fun. Shooting is for enjoyment... Great rifle you got there. I have a Black Diamond XR and it is a good shooter also. Wish it was an Omega sometimes, then I shoot it and am very happy it is what it is.....

RE: i got new omega
I would stay with two pellets for now when loading and get use to the rifle. After you burn up that box look for some loose powder as well it is just as easy to use and you can custonize the load. I am glad you bought 250g bullets I bet they will shoot great in your rifle.
I would not be surprized if your first time out you get exellent results you own a fine rifle that may not need breaking in.

Ijust got a new Omega too. SST Laminated thumbhole stock. I had everyone get me cash for Christmas and my Bday to put towards it. I put a Nikon Monarch 3-9 X 40 on it. I hope to shoot it in a couple of weeks. I can't wait i love this gun, if it shoots as good as it feels in my hands I'll be very happy.

RE: i got new omega
I looked at a new Omega yesterday and noticed that the trigger assembly which "falls down" for reloading has a real loud SNAP when you lock it back up. Does this go away after break-in? If not, it would be awfully loud in the woods.

Mine hasn't shown any sign of getting quieter. In the woods, however, I don't see myself snapping the trigger assembly closed except right after I just fired a shot and reloaded. I would imagine the discharge of the gun would overshadow the "snap" that followed thrity secondslater.
