When people ask me what they need to shoot off their rifle and to take care of it, I usually answer with a list like this.......

Black powder rifle supplies

DECIDE ON THE KIND OF POWDER[/b]

Pyrodex
Triple Se7en
Goex, Swiss, Wano Black Powder
Black Mag3
American Pioneer Powder
- loose or pellet your preference[/ul]

[/b]
TOOLS NEEDED[/b]
[/b]

See through powder measure
Cleaning jag
Cleaning mop
Patch worm
Bore brush
Short starter
Capper/de-capper
Loading jag for the projectile
Nipple pick
Breech plug removal tool – socket set with long extensions works also
range rod (is very helpful)
Breech Plug Anti Seize - CVA Slick Breech Plug and Nipple Grease, Gorilla Grease, Knight Breech Plug Grease
Breech Plug Tape[/ul]

CLEANING SUPPLIES[/b]

Isopropyl alcohol 91%
Car windshield washer fluid
Bore butter or lube for conical bullets
Gun Oil – Birchwood Casey Sheath, REM OIL, Breakfree CLP
Q-tip safety swabs
Cleaning Patches
Bore Solvents - [/ul]

Butch’s Bore Shine
M.A.P. – Murphy’s oil soap, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide
Black Off - Rusty Duck Black Powder solvent
Birchwood Casey Bore Scrubber (there are other great solvents out there that remove lead and copper)[/ol]

PROJECTILES[/b]
[/b]

Sabots for the caliber of rifle
Bullets that match the diameter of sabot
Conicals
Roundball and patch
Powerbelts or similar projectile[/ul]

It is kind of hot anyway to be shooting. I was shooting today in 80 degree heat. Riding a moto cross motorcycle sounds like a lot of fun instead... Good luck with your shooting and cycle...

also im getting the CVA DELUXE CLEANING KIT and the power belt bullet starter because i will be shooting powerbelts. the cleaning kit comes with a brass range rod, cva cleaning supplies like there nipple/breech plug grease and etc. patches, nipple pick, bore brushes, jag swabs, hand held brushes. and it comes with 50 and 45 caliber jags and brushes. so if i get a 45 im in good shape!(ordering it from bass pro)
