Check some of the auction sites like auction arms or Gunbroker.Com. You will find left handed traditional rifles you can get at a good price. I saw a left handed Lyman's Great Plains Rifle the other day at one of those sites but forget which one. If I were looking that is where I would start.

Another place is Tradition Arms and David Pedersolli Arms. They sell left handed models in Traditional models...

T/C or Fox Ridge also has some. I also am a lefty and percussion guns have never been a problem for me. If I was to buy a flinter though it would have to be left handed.

I have a Cabela's Hawken right handed percussion rifle. I haven't had it long enough to work up a real good hunting load yet, but the wood to metal fit and finish is very nice. The balance is good also. I had to put fiber optic sights on it because I have terrible vision and couldn't see the brass front blade. I also found out that the nipples you have to use are generally for cap and ball revolvers. I think its because its a Pedersoli made gun. so if you need replacement nipples cant use thompson or hotshot or those. Fortunately I have a bass pro close by that I can get them at.

From the one day at the range I have had with it it seems to like 80 grains of pyrodex and a patched round ball.

Hope that helps and good luck.

You could also consider a Lyman or Pedersoli

Check out the listing at Dixie Gun Works. They have a great inventory.

Gunbroker.com has an excellent looking Lyman Great Plains Rifle in flintlock .50 caliber left hand model. The price is more then fair and the auction is coming to a close in a couple days so you might want to look into this....

The Cabelas Hawkins is a good rifle, I own the same rifle bought from Dixie Gun Works, its made by Ivestarms, the same folks that make the Lymans. Dixie has them in flint as well. I own five left handed muzzleloaders, all of them non-custom, so left handed rifles are available. As already mentioned, Lyman, Traditions and Dixie Gun works amke or carry them. You might check Midsouthshooterssupply.com if you dont go the used route, they have very good prices and they provide great service.

I have a CVA St. Louis Hawken LH .50 that I am getting ready to sell. I shot it at rendezvous for a couple seasons in the St. Louis area, and I was always quite happy with it. Unfortunately the rendezvous activity in the Pensacola area is ZERO!!! Anyway, I've always kept the gun in immaculate condition, and shot round ball with minimal charges. If you would be interested, email me at morejunk2 at cox dot net. <You get the idea.
