For Big-Game, my favorite by far is my 700 BDL in 30-06. I have hunted with it for so long and feel so comfortable with it that it has become an extension of my arm. I have quite a few small and med. bores to play with but none quite match up to the versatility and comfort of the ole sixer.

Shato, I hear you. While the Remmies and Winnies are nice I like to shoot a bit of history. Let's see, of all the centerfire rifles in my safe only only 3 aren't mauser actions of one flavor or another. Rem 7600 35 whelen, 700 ADL 257 roberts, and M94 in 307 winchester. I also have a penchant to be the guy with something different.

My Rem. 700 .338 WM has been my "go-to" rifle for a while now... The 7 STW and the .375 are close runner-ups... Have a dozen or so more that hardly ever get used. But, for just some pure "shoulder thumpin'" fun.. My Circasion Walnut stocked, "fully custom" .416 Rigby gets the nod... Now that gun will just make you giggle.. Yeah, It's that fun! Sub MOA groups at 100 yds. But, at 6 dollars a shot, it doesn't lend itself well for plinkin'...
It would be a sad day, if I could only choose one....

[:-] don't say anything to anybody. But, I got a pre-64 model 70 in 30-06 found. It is in pristine condition, and this is the best part. The owner doesn't know what its worth. I'm all giddy. I think a can buy it for 5 bills or less. The only reason I don't own it right now is, I had to go home and check the serial numbers to make sure I was correct about my assumption that it was pre 64.

I don't have that many guns.Six I believe.1)Remington bolt action 22 for plinking and woodchucks on the property.2)A single shot break open 20 guage,my first shot gun as a kid.3)A mossburg 835 12 guage for turkey hunting.4)A Thompson Center Encore .50 caliber muzzleloader.5)a Remington 700 LSS mountain rifle in 30-06 and,6) a Browning Stainless Stalker A-bolt in .270.While most of these guns were carefully selected for their specific use, there is only one that I almost get misty eyed about and that is the .270.I love that gun,my 30-06 is cosmetically beautiful and I have quite a bit of money in customizing it,but it has never seen the woods in hunting season.Until that .270 kills plenty of the type of animals I wish to kill, the 30-06 will not see the light of day.It is the dardnest thing,I feel like I owe it to the gun to have it see that kind of success!
