Default RE: Flying with meat?

On my trip to AK this last fall, we only brought back frozen fish in with our check in luggage. We flew AK Airlines, and each bag was suppose to weigh #50 or less, so we stayed below, barely, that limit. The big game that we shot was left behind at a local butcher shop and once it was processed, they shipped it to us, I had a tracking number and was able to follow it and go to the airport and pick it up when it arrived. Worked out great. It cost me about $.90# for shipment of the big game meat. Our flight coming home was not a direct flight, had one short layer over, but the fish meat was still frozen solid, total flight time was about 5 1/2 or 6 hours.

I hate to say this but I would only take the choice meat with me. Hind quarters and tenderloins... The rest would have to go to the homeless...
