Have you thought of a single shot rifle like a Ruger No. 1, or Thompson Encore. The Ruger No. 1 comes with a 26" barrel, and the T/C comes with a 24" barrel in 30.06 Sprg. Check www.auctionarms.com www.gunbroker.com www.gunsamerica.com www.guntopia.com www.gun-trade.com www.gunrush.com www.ebang.com , or "Gun List". Good luck.

I have had all of the LH models over the years. I Mean from all the makers. Weatherby Savage Remington Ruger and Browning NO Winchesters. The Savage was as good as the others and cheaper.

The T/C qualifies as an ambidexterous gun, the Ruger No. 1 doesn't, try loadin' one with a low mounted scope, left handed, you'll get the idea.

I forgot to mention the Win Mod 70 Sporter III LH it is available with 24" tube in 3006 chambering. It is also Walnut/Blue like the Rem 700 CDL.

If you are a lefty then buying a right hand model would be a mistake. A close friend of mine after years of hunting with RH rifles finally bought his first LH ( Abolt SS .270) rifle and he can't put it down. He even now chooses it over his .338 when we hunt moose. I would pick a ruger over a remington any day any way. CRF, 3 position safety, integral bases. The legendary 700 action is in my opinion not good enough today, there's better now.

take a look at the Ruger #1. It is ambidextrous. It doesn't change from left to right. beautiful gun,26inch barel, yet shorter than the 22inch barreled bolt gun. Whats not to love.
