Default Question for Wyoming hunters

I am going on my first antelope hunt in Wyoming in a couple of weeks and need to know what the regulations are for Blaze orange. Do we have to wear it, and how much. A vest, a hat or both? Any other clothing tips would be greatly be appreciated. Will be hunting near Douglas (area 28) on private land October 11-14. Thanks.

Yes you do! At least a hat! But there's no reason you cann't wear more. as for how to dress, It may snow, rain(we could only hope) or be in the high 80°. you could see all three.

You have to wear blaze orange even if your hunting on private land?? What if you own the land?

We do not not have big game farms so the only way to get a goat tag is from the Game and fish so you must follow their regs. Here's what the reg's say. No person other than archer and crossbow hunters hunting during a special archery season or limited quota archery only season shall hunt any big or trophy game animal without wearing in a visible manner one or more exterior garments. Hat,shirt ect of fluorescent orange color. fluorscent orange camouflage is legal. You can check this and all other reg's on thier web site.

Gotlost is correct! Hunter orange must be visible 360 deg on the hat and vest. Some 300-400 square inches I think are required, but I am not positive on that. And this goes for both public and private property...

Your hunting on your own land, yet you still have to walk around looking like an orange version of the kool-aid man. [:'(]

I bagged my 14 inch Antelope near Cody Wyoming this Sept 1. With my 270 I wore a orange hat.

I'm also going on an antleope/mulie hunt in WY soon. My outfitter told me that a vest or hat is required. He told me he will supply a hat. Probably one with his outfit on.
Good luck but save me that big one.

I got a 15" and my dad got a 15 1/2" wearing full blaze orange this year. Don't worry about the orange issue. Ours were public land bucks and we got them in orange.
