I've been thinking about an antelope hunt (rifle). I don't have a lot of money budgeted for a guide this year, so I was thinking about researching BLM land in west Texas or New Mexico. I'm having trouble finding information on out f state license fees in these states. Any information about fees, and productive areas would be appreciated.

Barefoot, I can't help you with a speedgoat hunting in Texas or NM but I can tell you that I would never pay a guide to hunt them anyway. I go to Wyoming or Montana depending on the draw and both states have huge tracts of public land. Antelope is about the easiest do it yourself hunt out of state hunt there is. The biggest problem that you will have is not pulling the trigger the first day of your hunt. I'm not saying by any means that it's easy to bag a record book animal, but if your patient you can find a nice goat on public land.
Both Wyoming and Montana or drawing only, and of course it has passed. Colorado doesn't have that bad of goat hunting, but you have to be on the eastern plains if you want to draw in the first few years that you apply. It's just about all private land but access for goats is pretty easy, just don't ask about deer hunting, that is when I hear, we don't allow hunters. On the western part of Colorado you have great goat hunting but it takes years and years to draw a tag.
I can tell you that antelope hunting is one of the best hunts going out west if your don't want to do the lung buster mountain hunt.

Thanks, guys.
Do you have any web sites for hunting licenses, public land, tactics,or whatever else will help? I can easily drive to the Texas panhandle in a day -- even to the eastern New Mexico plains. North of there will take more time out of the hunt, but it mught be doable - especially if I can find a deal on airline tickets. Depending on what can be worked out, I would like to be able to meet up with one or two of the guys from the boards here.
If I can return the favor with Mississippi public turkey hunting info...

Wyoming non res tag this year was $236 if I remember right and applications had to be in awhile back. Drawing is in begining of July the 7th I believe.
On the up side there is some good land open to the public, but you'll have to do a little research. Zone 47 is a good start. You can always check to see if there will be any tags left over.

Unless Wyoming has a senior discout or something I don't know about ,their non res antelope license cost $237 total with a due date of March 15 with tentative drawing date of July 3.
Thier license hasn't been $125 since the 80's, and I looked at your profile you're just 16 ,so you did probably buy a youth license which is $110.
Barefoot go to Wyoming Game & fish Dept to verify , this guy's feeding you a load of bull......

barefoot---------I don't want to rain on your parade but I think you can forget West TX & Eastern NM.------Pretty sure it's private land. Landowners charge a pretty penny to get on------Quite a few B & C goats come out of there. For a DIY hunt---think WY. Some public land in Colorado but it's years before you will draw. Your WY antelope will not be a big as those NM/TX ones. But there are LOTS of them---be patient & pick a good one. It's a fun hunt. CB
