Default RE: low budget antelope hunt

Barefoot, I can't help you with a speedgoat hunting in Texas or NM but I can tell you that I would never pay a guide to hunt them anyway. I go to Wyoming or Montana depending on the draw and both states have huge tracts of public land. Antelope is about the easiest do it yourself hunt out of state hunt there is. The biggest problem that you will have is not pulling the trigger the first day of your hunt. I'm not saying by any means that it's easy to bag a record book animal, but if your patient you can find a nice goat on public land.

Both Wyoming and Montana or drawing only, and of course it has passed. Colorado doesn't have that bad of goat hunting, but you have to be on the eastern plains if you want to draw in the first few years that you apply. It's just about all private land but access for goats is pretty easy, just don't ask about deer hunting, that is when I hear, we don't allow hunters. On the western part of Colorado you have great goat hunting but it takes years and years to draw a tag.

I can tell you that antelope hunting is one of the best hunts going out west if your don't want to do the lung buster mountain hunt.
