RE: Black Bear Hunting
WHERE? SPRING IN ALASAKA.. SPOT AND STALK DURING LOW TIDE ALWAYS KEEPING THE WIND IN YOUR FAVOR. OR ON HILLSIDES WATCHING GRASSY SLOPES END OF MAY OR FIRST PART OF JUNE. FALL SITTING ON SALMON STREAMS OR WATCHING HILLSIDES FOR BEARS FEEDING ON BLUEBERRIES.
GOOD OPTICS.....NOT USING RIFLE SCOPE AS BINOCULARS. LOTS OF SIT AND WATCH TIME NEEDED. GOOD RAIN GEAR. PROPER FOOT WEAR FOR TERRAIN.

RE: Black Bear Hunting
Give us some more info on your hunt and we'll be able to help you more. Guided or unguided? Do you have quick access to the area you're going to hunt, or is it a 4 hr. drive then a 3 hr. hike? Bait? What is your goal - any bear? big bear?
Right now my best advice is to scout often to find where the sign is concentrated, but that may not be possible depending upon where and what type of hunt you're talking about.
