I agree with saw, but I'd also like to see every white man's license fee go to the indian nations who got screwed by land grabbing pioneers and a government that never lived up to a single treaty it signed.

And who is going to pay the game& fishs mulimillion dollar budgets? Peta? those you worry about offending with our hunting lifestyles that may not look ethical too all ?Do you own any land? a house? if so you could set a example(instead of just talk)& give yours up to the natives.
Its a false fact, that the goverment has never lived up to or fullfilled there end of ANY threaties . They are still being payed off today.
Theses even a small reservation( midstate ny) where they been delivering a big bag a salt yrly for the last 150 yrs or so( salt was a lot more scarse&valuable & important then)
Prehapes we should blame the ship builders& owners who transported those whites to this new world, make them pay ? Makes as much sense as the laws where the railroad has free rain of private lands ( for there minerals) if they so disire- because they where the main form of bulk transportion in the early days of OUR great nation.
Maybe all lands not in private ownership should be given up first to those natives? That be about 51% of this state.Maybe you been smoking some hippy weeds& its warped yer mind too.
I know this state dosnt do it - but how about a low cost hunting &or fishing licence to those serving in the active military.
My son just served 4 yrs overseas & no break for him& he will be going again soon. Not only that but the state wanted the taxes owed on his car he bought in germany&it is now in Tx & has never been in wy. ppl( and goverments) can talk a lot of talk about supporting the troops etc - but when it comes down to it - its more like screw them too.

My point was that the nations got a raw deal from a government supposedly "dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal". Genocide and ethnic cleansing are what we go to war to stomp out, yet we have a long history of feathering our own nest with the bones of those who lived here first. I don't know how you make up for stealing a people's heritage or marching someone's ancestors off to a concentration camp to die. But the debt will always be there in my book. Think about those poor slobs freezing and watching their families slowly starve to death next time you feel you've been slighted by a higher license fee.

Genocide and ethnic cleansing
After it was declared a war- all bargining should have stoped& all treaties null& void. Instead they still gave them vast tracks of land to live on& live there lifes. No not the same lifes they did have as roving tribal warlords preying on each other( odd thing to do with so much abundance around). Many many millions of acres of property
worth billions of dollars today, not considered even parts of America ,but soverin lands& nations, within our borders.
But we have always treated our enemys well, we just have to look at the germans & japaness- who started there wars with us&we finished it .
They who (US) went at costs of blood &dollars to make them better places, rebult there democercies & lands better then before( free of tyrants, mossilnis& hitlers)- that is how we treat our former enemys.
Now if the shoe had been on the other foot & japan won , or germany or the natives & we the losers. How would things have been?- we would have not faired so well i dont think. There would have been mass murders of soilders & cilivilians i think & those left would have been used as slaves & the womon..... and they sure wouldnt have been handing out cash decades later to us as the losers.
It is time to for them to count there good fortune & get on with making there nations a better place for there ppls.
Instead of being on the dole& with there hand out & living in the past, & feeling sorry for themselfs.( a good excuse to get drunk i guess- but very counterproductive to family life& the clans future.

Except for chief washki- who chose peace- over war. he was a good man& wise beyond his yrs.
But non of that has anything to do with licence fee increases by a bloated goverment agency. With to many chiefs& not enough indians.

1eye, you ain't to blame for your ignorance. Seen too many John Wayne movies. You need to read some about the subject then get back to me so we can have a intellegent conversation. Lemme know, an' I'll give you a list of books about the subject. And don't believe for a minute that this was an issue about "enemies" and war. Only some of the tribes had the power to resist for very long. Even the peaceful tribes that tried to get along as neighbors were eventually relocated because the last of their shrinking lands were coveted. You my friend are a victim of the revisionist history that was taught to children for ages and reinforced by media stereotypes.
