Moose and elk hunting in North America.

Just to clarify one point the op brought up about hunting big game out of a helicopter. It is a violation of federal law to hunt big game out of an aircraft. I believe there is one exception which for some reason allows hunting feral hogs in Texas from a helicopter. I make this post not to criticize the op but rather to educate him on a point of law and certainly ethics.

We should all stop wasting our time trying to educate the uneducable, we are trying to educate a non hunter who never hunted but thinks he has the answers because he read a book or two. He is a troll and not worth the effort to respond to his nonsense and has no intention of ever hunting. He is a pest, similar to a mosquito and is a bored individual who sits in front of his computer tossing out nonsense to see if he can get a nibble to give him a giggle. If we allow him to talk to himself he will go away. He already said he needs to find a different sportsman's massage board, we need to encourage him to do so, let him bother other people!

This site is so stagnant with only a few posts every day. I am a member of a few others which generate more posts in 10 minutes than this one does all day. I thought the point of a forum was to generate posts?

Most come out via packframe. Out of all the ones our gang got I can only think of a couple we could get to with a vehicle. One of the most memorable was a big cow Rob shot in a blizzard. We cut the elk in half and loaded into my truck. Dont think we could have gotten off the mountain without all that weight. We were pushing snow up over the bumper. Truck got seriously over heated.

In fairness, HuntingNet has a different dynamic than the other forum. We've never been as large or had as many members as the other forum. Many of our older members were like family to each other during the 90's and early 2000's. We do tend to respond to members' complaints about other members, offensive posts, porn, over-moderation, adding new forums and sub forums, spam, PM harassment, etc.
From what I've seen on the other forum, there is little to no moderation and pretty much everything and anything goes. Member complaints seem to get ignored. It's definitely a busier forum though and you can find a lot more content due to that.
But that's not what you're really getting at with your above post. I think your true point is worthy of an honest discussion but perhaps in a separate topic so we don't hijack the OP's topic. Open invitation is extended and I look forward to the discussion.

I am hunting and will be until dark. I only have so much battery life on my phone so ill pass right now on starting another thread. I will however put something out in a day or two. I have a few things to say and it is about time I say it. I will post in the Off Season forum since that is where I used to live.
