Anyone try callin bears with a predator call?It sure is exciting.Called in a hundred pounder and seen grizz tracks close by that were fresh.waiting on a bigger bear than a hundred pounder.I try an stay away from the grizzly bears.I hunt outside of Missoula within 100 miles or so.I have been hunting by myself and that adds to the excitement.I had some bear spray but it exploded in the truck so I just use my bow and knife. It gets really exciting right before dark walking back in the dark.
If you haven' t tried it you are missing out if you like to bear hunt.Must have a strong heart and fearless or you might get eaten.

I' ve never done it on purpose, but I have had 2 in 10 years come in while I' m calling yotes. Always thought about buying a bear tag and trying it, but never have since it runs the same time as deer/elk here in Colorado and I have my hands full trying to fill those tags

Called one in back in sept of 2000. It had it' s nose down on a deer trail while coming in to my fawn bleat call. It was less then 10 yards away before it knew it made a big mistake and started headin back the other way. I was by myself too and it took awhile to drag the 450 lb' er out of the swamp; but I got em. Even more fun trying to get him on the truck by myself.
I now go bear hunting whenever the season comes around.
I called in a mother with 3 small cubs the second day of the season here using a bear call.
Shot a 220 lb' er week later using a bacon fry but didn' t do any calling that day.
