The Cow Talk call is sold to the general public. You can reach Don Laubach at E.L.K. Inc. 1-800-272-4355. They can take your order over the phone.

I carry three or 4 different diaphragm calls.
I think they are Primos. They are the ones with the spacer for the roof of your mouth. They are the only ones to get, much more consistent sound.

Lightweight, can carry them in one shirt pocket, don' t cost a bunch, very versatile as to the sounds you can make.
I like to walk through the country banging around and blowing lots of cow and calf calls and small bugles trying to sound as much like a small herd with no herd bull as possible. Works great.

The type with the spacer for the roof of your mouth are really easy to master.
Mess around with them in your car on the way to work for a couple weeks and you will have it down.

i use primos hyper single and iv' e tried them all and these work best. last year while hunting it sounded so good a cougar thought i was a elk and charged me and stopped six yards away, i thought i was cat ****, couldnt get the safety of fast enough and luckily he stopped when he saw i wasn' t a elk. the primos bugle with the expandable tube sounds great for bugling also called many bulls in with it last year.

Ain' t nuthin' as excitin' as callin' a big bull in close. Havin' him raise his head an call a stones throw away, roll his eyes back an' blow snot, you know he' s itchin' fer a fight. Think I' d rather do that than' ' bout anything else in the world.

For once I think I may have to agree with you. There aint nothing better in the world than calling bulls in close. For that chore, I too use a the hyper lip single as well as a reed in my mouth. elknut1

Try the Sleezy cow call from Berry Game Calls. A buddy and I called a bull in over 400 yards away. It sounds a bit like a wounded rabbitt call, but boy does it work.

Primos hyper lip single, any good diaphram. carry two calls because it is important to change the tone. We hunted an area last year that didnt have pressure and the cows wouldnt give one of my calls a second look but one my friend had worked like a charm several times.
