Bear Bait Trap
Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone knows a way to make a cheap bear bait trap. I need a contraption that will contain the bait and allow the bears to eat out of it but not take all the bait at once. Essentially make them work for it.
Thanks
Tom

Just get a 55 gal steal barrel and cut some paw sized holes in it. Run a chain through it and chain it off to a decent size tree. That way they either have to sit there and paw it out a scoop at a time, or they can roll it around the tree and a little will trickle out as they roll it.

Thanks Jeff.
I was hoping for some ideas on alternives to drums. We have to move them and I want something more managable. Any products out there that you can think of?
Do you think some form of plastic will withstand the power?

I worked for an outfitterin Canadafor years and they did bear hunts. The drums work well. We even used the plastic drums, they will wear out or breakbut for a season or 2 they work fine. We also used 30 gallon drums on certain sites too, those might be alittle more easy to handle if you need to move them.
