i hunted in the allagash...was zone 1..since then they have changed the zones....it would be zone 1 and 2 now...i drew my permit on my first try...october is the best...too warm in september..give it a try...

i used allagash sporting camps..john oleary..first class people..207-398-3555 as far as a non residents chances..its more likely you have a better chance to draw....every resident...grand ma..grand pop..and the kids apply....i got lucky...pulled first time i put in ...odds are if you dont try.....you sure wont get one...

This year our Maine moose hunt is going to be a little messed up!
The early season while warm is always the best due to the buls being in or near peak rut. The second season this year is going to be late. Two weeks after the first hunt. Bulls can still be called but this year we are going to find out who can call and who can' t.
Don' t for get that this year you will not have an option of taking a cow if you fail to see a bull. We are going to predict a kill in the 65 to 70% mark.

just sent off my permit application....took a 60 incher in 1999...cant beat the deal.....great hunt.
