The Bison herd here is wild and migrate quite a ways each year. Having spoken to some friends who have drawn the tag, the Bison are not stupid, they will have to be hunted. The good thing is she has months and months to fill her tag, so the odds are with us.

Alot depends on the bison its self. Some are very flightly others will stand there and not give a care. I took a bison with a bow at a ranch we were able to stalk in to 30 yards I shot it once it stood there for about 1/2 - 1 minute then just nose plowwed into the ground.
