Default Heres my 2002 Bear with a Bow

I just wanted to share my bear pic in here with you BigGamers. Other than this being my first Bear I have one Angora Ram taken. No other big game as of yet but I'd like to get into the Elk that have wandered into VA.
Heres the Black Bear I took with my bow with SpitfireMECHANICAL broadheads that went singing from my Darton. These ol' Spitfires have not failed me yet. He didn't go but maybe 50 feet or so and laid down. I can't wait to have some bear steaks and jerky. Thanks to those who took time to give me a little advice on getting him when I needed it.

I got the Bear with my bow at about 15 yards. I went out last Monday morning and was in the stand maybe a total of 30-45 minutes. I was sitting there and had some turkeys I was getting ready to try and call in come running past my stand, hell they were hauling butt. The tree I was in is a lonely oak in the middle of a old cut through. There was a piece of trunk about 3 feet long that was bare of branches about 15 feet up. So I put the bottom of my climber up there with a 5 gallon bucket on it to sit on. Well after the turkeys came running through I heard some crunching and the tops of some saplings moving my way. The bear stepped out and looked right at me. He looked for maybe 5 seconds and started smelling a pile of his old crap. I stood up and made some noise with the bucket and scared him a bit but he just went about his business a few seconds later. When he put his nose back to the ground I pulled back and Thwack. He ran through the thicket and I heard nothing after 2-3 seconds. I jumped down immediately ran home, called my buddy and uncle and grabbed my pistol to go track him. I had NO blood trail but a pass through showed me on the arrow that I got him good. I started to start doing a circle when I saw him just 50 feet away laying next to a cedar he tried to get up in I think. The branches were broke about from the ground to 8 feet up. His organs blocked the holes from the arrow so no blood was coming out. I'd say he weighs between 200-300 pounds. I suck with weight guys so I don't know. The pic looks alot smaller than what he was, I think. LOL. There is an even bigger one that I saw that night in the yard messing with the dog. This one has got to be closing in on the 450-500 pound mark cause its a beast. I'm going to try and get my buddy in on it before the smokepoles get out here and scare him off.
I was using a Darton Trailblazer with a 4x BullsEye scope and Carbon Express Sidewinders tipped with 85 Grain Spitfires.
