To my knowledge there is no official "slam" I think they are simply contrived. I mean there is the "grand slam of Turkey", the "grand slam of sheep", the "super slam", etc etc. I don't know if you actually get put in any book or club by doing it but it is a great accomplishment nonetheless. I done a google search of "super slam of hunting" and found this article interesting: http://www.huntingmag.com/big_game/degree_difficulty/

By Jim Shockey:"....Believe it or not, my vote for easiest of the big game species to hunt with a muzzleloader is the whitetail deer...."
Sorry, can't resist.... so true.

I'd love to do it myself but with the draw odds or $50k plus, I talked to a guy last fall that spent $65k on his hunt, for a Desert Bighorn SheepI don't think I'll ever get there from here. For that matter most of the sheep are out of my reach, by the time you hunt all four of them, just once, you could spend $100k.As much as I'd like to huntthe polar bear,at $30k for one hunt and I've talked to a guy who did it twice before he got one, it is more than I can do. Oh well...Todate I've hunted 8 having taken 7 of themand have plans to hunt 3 or 4more in the next two years. I figure if I can get 15 to 20 of them before I runout of time or money that'll be pretty good fora country boy fromAlabama.
Sofar I've taken:
Whitetail deer with rifle and bow
Black bear with rifle and bow
Antelope with rifle, twice
RockyMt. Elk with rifle
Bison with rifle
Musk ox with rifle
Arctic Island Caribouwith rifle

HuntedMule deer without getting one. Plus I've got a deposit on a Quebec-Lab. Caribouhunt for this fall, making plans to hunt Mt. Lion next winter andI'm researching a Brown bear and Sitka deer hunt of the fall of 07. Which with some luck could get me to 11.It sure has been a fun ride!!!!
