Hunting Season Cancelled??

Hunting Season Cancelled??
Over reaction or necessary decision?? News reports indicate the hunting season(s) in the Washington DC surrounding areas have been cancelled. The reasons being given are that people carrying rifles could be mistaken as suspects in the shootings and they could themselves be in some danger. What's with this?? Is this valid?? Personally I don't thinks so. How could a hunter in a hunting area dressed in hunting clothes carrying a hunting rifle probably in the company of other hunters be confused with a sniper in an urban environment?? I wonder what the long term and spin off effects of these Washington area shootings will have on lawful gun ownership and on hunting. The anti-gun loby must be just rubbing their hands together and smacking their collective ****ing lips with this opportunity. gg.

But your right on about the anti's.They are going to push this to the hilt.
It's not how big the Deer,But the size of the experiance that matters!!

I've never believed in everyone losing freedom due to the actions of one or just a few people. I understand why they did it but this just makes it harder for everyone back there, and gives the antis and the phsyco doing this more gratification.

RE: Hunting Season Cancelled??
it's true, early muzzleloader season in 4 maryland counties was closed due to the sniper. they said it was so that there wouldn't be so many people calling in shots fired distracting the police from valid reports. they did extend the season to include an additional weekend (thurs, fri, sat) ...no hunting in maryland on sunday. so that was good and we didn't loose any hunting days. i can also say that during the extended weekend there was no shortage of gunfire in the woods.
