Default savanna coveralls? please help!

i was looking at the savanna line of scent lok. i was liking the price on the coveralls. anyone used these?
are they light much lighter?
i would be useing them in sept. elk season, are they going to be cool enough?
........
a problem with coveralls, is this. a friend of mine that i hunt with more often than not had a bad day. he was on an elk hunt in the hills, he felt the sudden urge to relieve himself, stumock was turning and growlen. so he found the first tree to hide behind, droppen the coverolls down. and man he felt better, that brown bottle runs will get you! so he stood up and started putting the coveralls back on and put one arm in and popped the other side up and FELT something splat him on the back of the head and down his back! oh yes he sh!tt in his hood on the coveralls! That story left me laughing. I know a guy that filled the hood of his coveralls and ended up cutting the hood off. For elk, I like to wear camo sweatpants and a camo sweatshirt with a pair of longjohns underneath. I look at elk hunting as an atheletic event and wear the same clothes as I would for doing some type of arobic activity. The sweats are also very quiet and can soak up alot of elk urine throughout an elk season. If I have a long walk, I will wear a pair of camo boxers from wal-mart, to stay cool and keep the sweat factor down............

Save your money. Scent-lok is a major waste of your good hard $$$ IMO. Hey, if your going to sit ina tree stand and not sweat a bit, sure, buy it. It just isn't for the Western hunter and you have to devote ALL of your gear to the stuff or your just wasting your time. I wish I would have thought up that stuff. Marketing genius, yet so is alot of things that "sound good".

That story like to busted my gut laughing

I have a set of light weight mesh 3D leafy, which has worked very well.
It's a 2 pc outfit which you can wear over your shorts, pants etc.

I also wear a light weight ghille suit from Cabelas, the results are not in yet for this camo. I'll know soon enough.

I agree with fellow re: the scentloc!
Good luck!

manboy-

I think we just sweat too much chasing Elk all day for it to be effective. I think it's better to be scent aware and you can do that spending just a little cash. It's important to understand how we stink when thinking about things like this. Keep in mind 1/3 of your scent comes from your hands & feet, another 1/3 from your neck up (hair, head, and mouth) and the final 1/3 the rest of your body. Everyone spends all that $$$ on a suit that only covers 1/3. [:@]

Personally, I use scent free soaps and deodorant. I spray down the tops of my shoes and my hat. I try to knock down the scent a bit, realizing that I will never be able to mask it all or stop it all. Keep in mind, I'm hiking up and down the hills like mad chasing Elk (as you probably are as well). Wind, wind, wind, spend $5 on a wind watcher bottle and have fun!
