I just got back from my elk hunting trip to Colorado last week. I had expected it to be warm..........but we got the exact opposite! It rained for the majority of my trip. The temperatures were in the low 50's on most days. We woke up to snow a few times as well! Be prepared for ANYTHING! As for the scent lock suits, I am not personally a big fan of them. I think they are more hype than help. Besides, we hunted (Hiked!) so much and so hard I feel we would have sweated up the scent lock suits to the point of them being useless. Just follow the basics.........keep the wind in your favor! My budy and I used this philosophy and I got a real nice 5x6 herd bull 3-days into our hunt. After that we ALMOST got several different 6x6's! The elk were all at or above treeline. Be prepared to climb! Good luck.

Ditto to IronBuck----- Elk hunting is more hiking, you have to find the elk---that's alot of hiking or horse back riding. If you hike you will work up a sweat, if you horse back ride you will smell like a horse. Forget the suit & watch the wind.

Just a thought, a scent lok headcover and jacket would work, just put them on once you get into elk, carry them in your pack until then. Every little bit helps, but still have to watch the wind.
