Default Poundage for game?

I shoot 70# on my bow. Is there any big game in North America that would require more?

I'm really interested in Elk, Bear(any type), Moose and or Bison.

I'm new to hunting so be gentle with me. I just finished my first season hunting whitetails and it was awsome.

Utah has a 40 pound min. You dont need 70 pounds to hunt elk or bear, people do it with bows in the 50-60 pound range all the time. Even us longbow and recurve shooters!

I shoot 67# on my bow and that is more than enough .I reduced the draw weight from the factory till it was comfortable and thats where it ended up .

Poundage alone is not enough to make a determination. We also need to know other factors such as draw length, cam type (if you're shooting a compound), brace height, etc. to calculate your arrow's kinetic energy.
