Any of you guy's hear anything about this critter.
A bear was killed down on Hitchenbrook Island by an airman
stationed at Elmendorf.
The bear measured 12' 6" and was estimated at over 1600lbs.
The guy was walking to his hunting area and the bear stood up
only 35 yards away. The bear dropped down and went straight
for him. He emptied his gun and the bear fell 10 yards from him.
I have pictures and will e-mail them to anyone who will post them. It's huge!

Yeah, i saw those pictures and heard about this thing. Somebody from Boone & Crookett said it was fake!!!!!!
If you look at the picture, you'll see the guy is way behind the bear to create depth and to make the bear appear bigger than the person himself. Old photo hunting trick anyway.
I was advised of it originally as a fake. Just like the photos of the airplane coming into the world trade towers while a guy was on the roof getting his picture taken. Another internet FAKE!!!!!!!!!

dalliwacker,,,,I can't really tell the actual distance, but if you look at the picture, you can see the he is clearly seated several feet behind the bear. It's so bad that it's so obvious. It's pretty shocking at first, but then you can see what I mean. the guy is definately way behind the bear, attempting to make it look like he's head-to-head with the bear.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same guy doing the bogus world trade tower photos on the roof prior to the collision. <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

Actually if memory serves right, I think Ted was sitting at the base of the bear's rear. Look at the pic again. The bear is vertical w/ the photographer and Ted is right at the bear's rump (See Ted's knee?). I highly doubt, no I guarantee you that the guy who took this pic is not the same guy who made the WTC photo. The WTC photo was made with a photoshop software (or something like it)where as the bear pic is nothing but a picture. No cropping, no color enhancing, just a scanned photo. Would like to hear more on your expert opinion.

YEEEEHAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!!
I got a biggen boys! Actually yes I do have a potential taker on the magazine article. Not my first choice, but I am not gonna turn it down if they want it and are willing to pay what they quoted. I am speaking of Sports Afield. I am still trying to get in touch with Big Game Adventures out of Canada (My favorite rag), but something tells me they either sold the company or shut the doors, as their website is no longer and the emails come back undelivered.
