RE: Huge bear from Alaska
Dalliwhacker,,,,well, now you're comming down on the weight of that animal. I'd guess that is probably a little more realistic.
I'll be honest with you. I appreciate all of the web sites you posted, but I didn't read them or go there. I believe others will though. The bear story really doesn't interest me that much to check those other web sites.
I'd say that if you post the info as you did and claim to know the guy involved, (Ted?) and put down the lower weight and size (which you did), I believe it. But heck, it really doesn't matter if I believe it or not. If you say it happened and you know something that I don't, then that's all that matters. Isn't it? Who cares if someone believes or doesn't believe something. That's what I always say when I tell someone about an incident or story.
Also, I see there are some other "inside jokes" within this message board, that I wasn't getting. I'm pretty slow, so you'll have to forgive me. (I'm just trying to be funny here, not a smart a$$). Maybe you guys all know each other really well. Cool.
Anyway, I'd be interested to know what gun/caliber the hunter used on the bear and how many rounds did it take to stop the bear?
A final note, I'm glad we're not getting personal with anybody, because I sure am not. I love this message board and love to agree/disagree, tell stories/hear stories from everybody. Almost like a good "debate room" or a bunch of guys "shoot'n the sh*t" at an old fashioned barber shop, swap'n hunting & fishing stories etc....
I hope I haven't offended anybody. If I do/did, I appoligize.

Your a good sport. I'm not offended in the least bit. I'll stop pulling your leg, but I am glad you took my sometimes "Sarcastic" sense of humor w/o being upset. The inside joke is...I took the photos. I was on the hunt w/ Ted. The one or two pics you have seen are only a few of the larger collection. If you havn't read any of the links I provided, then I assume you probably didn't even go to the main page where I posted all of the pics. The inflated story you heard was just that. I honestly am not sure who started the story, but I can guarantee you they knew nothing they were talking about. I've received dozens upon dozens of emails regarding the pictures, and have replied to quite a few forums to fill people in on the truth. The only thing I ask, is you don't blab that the pictures are fake, because they are not. And to settle the score with you, Ted is not far from the bear at all, as a matter of fact he has his hand on the bear, but neither you or nobody else can tell that in the pic. Go look at the main thread to see the other pictures. Maybe you will appreciate them more.
