Didn't get it done this weekend. Saturday I had one gobbling on the roost to the left of a field that they like to strut in after fly down so instead of setting up in the woods near the roost I set up on the field edge. Of course, he flew down and stayed in the woods and took off to who knows where. I couldn't locate another bird all morning. We have to leave the woods by 12 in CT and 1:00 in RI. I haven't even hunted in RI yet. I was going to hunt tomorrow morning, but decided not to. There is a big 2nd amendment rally at the state house here tomorrow. They are trying to ram a bunch of anti-gun bills through the house. I'm planning to testify against the bills and it will probably turn into a late night. I don't want to show up half dead from hunting all morning. I'll be at it again this weekend though.

Good on ya RI you guys are fighting the fight. Our PC government just got rid of our long gun registry a few months back and I don't see any increase of murders but of course all the hunters are out there shooting others now! We are just using our huntin skills now and just aren't gettin caught like before because we were just way too sloppy in covering up our crimes!

Great bird Teebugg! Congrats!
planning to head out here Sunday with the shotgun. I was out all last week with my bow. I've had 21 bearded birds within 30 yards so far this year with no shot.... which is why I'm taking the shotgun from here out.
