Howdy all, my computer crashed and I couldn't get on line for a while, I did get a gobbler on 5-5-08 the hunting is tough in Pa. this year, the hens are sticking with the gobblers. Here he is.

21lbs.
Spurs, one 1 1/8" one 1" both were worn flat on the tips.
11" beard.

Where is the rest of the team?? Its not any fun when people sign up and dont post. It would be nice to know if these people that have not posted are done for the season, or not hunting. At least fill us in.... O well

Great bird BHW. You are lucky to still be hunting. I am all done for the spring. I killed an osceola, rio, and 2 easterns. I have already got my trail cams out taking inventory of what toms made it through. Won't be long to start thinking about bow hunting.

But i know where the bird goes everyday so i just need to get there before him memorial day weekend.

Hey Team! Scored on a nice gobbler on the 13th! Will get a photo up. He's my 2nd best gobbler ever..only gotten 1 other gobbler anyway..rest were jakes but nothing wrong with either!

Hoping to fill my 2nd tag.

I think we are going to need one more bird to take first or second. we need about a 530 in points to take over the lead. I think turkey girl will put us around 510, just guessing

Sorry team that I havent been on for a while, my computer went on the blink. I did get a gobbler on 5-5-08 Here in Pa. the ol hens are still hanging around, makeing for some good tough hunting. Here are his stats.
21 Pounds.
One spur 1 1/8" one 1" both wore flat on the tips.
11" beard.
Your score is 21 + 11.25 + 10 + 22 = 64.25
My gobbler looked much better before I stuffed him in a 30 gal. trash bag with ice to bring him home, had a long trip and the temp was in the high 70*ies.

Ps. Congrats on all of those great gobblers that you guys and gals got, they are beauties.

Planning to try a new spot Friday morning...guy who works at the camp I work at is letting me hunt his land...he's been seeing two longbeards he said behind his house...going to go see if I can bring one of them in!

good luck, your lucky your still hunting, my season ended a couple weeks ago and i have been itching to go back into the wwoods, i guess ill have to wait it out through the summer though

well one of our non-active team members have told me they got a bird, i am trying to find out if he can get a pic up so i can record it. but its measurments were 5" beard 1" spurs and weighed 19lbs

Well my season is done...yesterday was the last day butI slept in. I'm very happy with the nice public land bird I got! Way to go team..looks like we've done well!

Hey folks,

Finally clearing the fog out of my head and getting pictures ready to post. Its been a long season for me, the longest every, I got a lot of hunting in, and managed to do 1/2way decent as well. Got to make it everywhere but 1 state that I planned, WY, ya'll are welcome to come over for a cup of tag soup if you wish. Sorry I haven't been posting but between hunting and work travel I've had scarce computer time. Thanks to God I was able to hunt 7 states and harvest 7 birds this year.THe score for my first bird in GA back in March still stands as my best, but I'm going to now attempt to post some pictures of the others;

ps. I hope to get back online and share some stories like the 3 different poaching situations that got in my way this year, the BIG snowstorm out west and the 6 inches of rain in 12 hours that we went through in KS.

Hope to talk to ya'll soon, and an unofficial congrats to everyone on Team 19 for taking home the Gold this year!!

Here goes;

First two in Georgia 3.23.08



Then another in Georgia the following morning 3.24.08



Then we go to the Texas Panhandle, 4.7.08



Then on to my homestate WISCONSINfor a 30 minute hunt (in an area I know well), this bird got kinda wet and I didn't get the best picture either cause I was in a hurry to drive the 580 miles over to Southern OH where I got SKUNKED!!



After getting skunked in OH and taking a week to go to work, it was on to NE where I got skunked AGAIN! BUT, in SD I got to shoot this nice Merriam in the snow!



And finally, after 2 more weeks of work I was fortunate to head out to KS with a dear friend and bag one more, gotta love the tail on this one, didn't know it was like this because he came in silent and walking but MAN he must have been in some BRAWLS, only 4 tailfeathers left out of 16!

Coming from a 2nd place team member(Long Beard Killin Freaks), I just wanted to say "CONGRATS" team 19 for kickin' some butt this year. We tried our best, but come up a couple birds short to over take ya, and everyone is done hunting on our team, so I'm pretty sure you're gonna take 1st. Good job!
