Team 15... Spurr-fect
 

Hey gang. Very excited about the contest. I hope everyone will sign in and let us all know who you are, what you're seeing, where you're hunting, and when opening day is.

I'm Mark Webb. I live in Durant, OK and hunt both Southeastern and Southwestern Oklahoma. I have the luxury of hunting Rio's in the Southwest and Easterns in the Southeast. I haven't heavily scouted the Easterns yet, but my Rio population is rockin'. Can't wait for April 6th.

Hey Everyone.

I'm Jon Fenrick. I live in Madison WI, and will be hunting in SW Wisconsin. My season won't start till the 16th of April. I have the option of buying more tags in the later seasons, in May, for $10 a piece, so I think I'll hit that up. Can't wait to hear 'em gobble, and get out into the woods. All we need is for that darn snow to melt.

Hi guys
My name is Ron. I live and will be hunting in Ohio. Season starts med April. We are allowed 2 birds. I shoot one with a bow and one with a gun. That is if they give me half a chance.
Time to toot my own horn!
I had the highest scoring turkey in this contest 2 years ago. Now don't get your hopes up for this year lol.

Hey Guys,
Im Drew Im 19 I will be hunting ohio, and michigan have a chance to take 3 birds.
Last year my I killed a tom the wieghed 25lbs 10" beard and had 1 3/8" spurs
Seems like we have a pretty good group of seasond guys here.
Dont let my age fool you ive been chasing thunderchickens with pops since i was 4

RJP, I'm about 2 hours from Norman. But heck, get your tail to Oklahoma. Would love to give team 15 two great chances for big scores. My Southwestern birds are in unbelievable shape. We had big rains (floods) last year, but it looks like the hatch was not affected. Lots of Rio turkeys. Southeastern Oklahoma is very good also. I've got access to quite a bit of land in both sections of the state. Would love to host a teammate if you get the chance to head this way.

By the way, Thunderchicken Patrol was a name that we used for a contest a few years back. It's kinda catchy, but I'm open to whatever. You guys figure out a name and tell me to "GO" and I'm all over it.

Its me, Nick, checking in. I'll have at least 2 Iowa tags, plus anymore land-owner tags I want to get. I'll be hunting NW Iowa, have seen lots of birds, and nobody really hunts birds here, I have a very good chance of bagging a bird ot 2, or 3(maybe). My season starts April 14.:D

Sorry I'm late! I'm here and will be hunting in Wisconsin May 7-11 in zone 21. Saw 26 birds in a field a 1/4 mile from my property this afternoon, 9 toms with one strutting. I hope everyone has a safe and successful season!

hey webbclan if I get a done early and can get away I will take you up on the offer. My friend in Norman will be gone on the road most of the season and I don't feel right hunting on him alone. My big set back is that we have just opened a new business which will take a lot of my time also this year. The nice things is I can take off mornings and evenings to hunt being the boss. I like thunderchicken Patrol as our team name. Take care and Good Hunting.

Great! Give me some lead time so I can clear the schedule, and we'll give 'em fits. If you are coming from Kentucky, the southern swing shouldn't be out of the way. As I mentioned, I'm a 100+ miles south of Norman and a bit east. Send me a PM when you get your plans finalized.

Hey, 99 I will also be in Florida next week. Several families are headed that way for Spring Break. I am going to be in destin, so I'll be well north of the Osceola's. I am, however, going to give a Florida Eastern a shot. Quite a bit of public land in the panhandle. It will probably be infested with turkey hunters, but what the heck. Never hunted in Florida, so it should be fun.

Good luck to you too.I went out there last year for the first time.Kind of rediculous.Over 140 people in the southern section of 3 lakes opening day.There werepeople set up every 200-300 yds with decoys and pop up blinds..CRAZY..I think 3 birds were taken.I had to crawl onthe jake I shot,(took a few tailfeathers out as well)but atleast I got an osceola.This year I am after a mature bird.Can't make my mind up for sure which WMA I want to try,but we are going to be at alligator lake again this year..VERY NICE!

Sorry guys! I've been neglecting the site for awhile. Post hunting season busyness. Reporting in. I hope to get a couple nice turkeys this year. My aim is to get another with a bow (recurve or longbow) and one from the mountains. I'll be hunting on my birthday on our family farm that has produced a lot of nice gobblers. We've scored doubles three times. Average gobbler has 10" beard, 3/4" spurs and weighs 18-20#. Not a guaranteed bird but good odds.

fenrick, I live in SE WI, my oldest son got a tag for zone 30 week 1 so that will start my regular season. My youngest son and I both have tags for zone 21, week 4 and we hunt near Wis. Rapids. I will probably get us some late season tags for 22 also, and we hope to get out early for the youth season. Where do you hunt?
