sorry, got a run of phone calls. on my miss- i could almost see him on the limb. i thought, man, i'm perfect. he should pitch down in my lap. well, i was a little off. he flew past me about a hundred yards. i did get him to come back some but the shot was left handed. no excuses. i should have been petting that bird instead of watching him fly out of my life..................tony

I know the feeling Tony. It sucks. I remember it was like my 4th year turkey hunting and I managed to call 3 toms from about 300 yards away into range (actually 15 yards). I missed. Used a gun i never patterned (THERES A LESSON!!).
So ya...it sucks.

I'm on the sidelines this wk. Had to come home to Mia. for a family emerg. but expect to head to Ky. on Tue/Wed for the opener on the 14th. I took a good friend on sat. before we headed home and managed to put 3 different birds in front of him but it didn't happen.

Hey guys. Just got back from driving by the huntin property, and stopped on the side of the road to check out some toms with the binoculars, and i am ALMOST positive one of them was a double beard!! I would be in heaven if I could shoot him this spring, and it most definetely would help the team. Obviously, if a longbeard comes into range and it isnt him, i aint holdin out thats for sure.
Just thought Id let u all know that I thought I couldnt be more motivated this year, well apparently I am now.
Good luck guys.

Hey Team,
So I am pumped to head out next week. I will be hunting starting Wed. and will hunt through sunday if I need to! I know where the birds have been, where they typically roost in the spring based on a 7 year pattern. I finally got permission to hunt the neighboring property to set up in an ideal location to have the birds come in right off the roost!
I will fill you in when I get back!
