sdhunter11, hunting the missouri river breaks in northern south dakota. hopefully our season ends better this year than it did last huh jason?
|
We were so close to the lead, but to many of our teammates didn't participate in the contest. Hope we have a more active team this year. Its also good to see ya again. Are ya ready to murder some whitetails? 8)
|
Outdoorcountry Checking in.
I'm Jason from Waterloo, NY...I held out for bigger horns last year but just couldn't get close enough. Hopin for better results this year! Good Luck this season fellas! |
Great to see ya back again. It looks like we're putting the old team back together.
|
dmax4me checking in. I'm from South Central PA. I do most of my hunting in Ohio. The team I was on last year came in Second. I'm headed out to Ohio this weekend to do some scouting.
Scott |
Welcome to the team Scott. Be safe on your scouting trip & enjoy the time afield.
|
Mottz checking in. Will be hunting nebraska again this year. Kind of taking my neighbor under my wing this year, teaching him about hunting deer, so maybe that will let me get out a little more. I hope this team has alot of chat cause thats what I like most about these teams.
On Point, I see you already took the capt position(which is good!!) so good luck on getting us going. I did think of a couple team names so far. Bone Droppers Bones to the Dirt Team Pass Thru Not very good but I'll try to think up more. Good Luck EVERYONE! |
Welcome to the team Mottz, good to have ya here. Hope youre ready for a great whitetail season.
|
Here in Illinois our season opens Oct. 1st. How bout the rest of you?
|
Nebraska opens Sept 15th:woot::woot:
Heres the link for my trail pics so far this year. http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/trai...8-27-12-a.html |
Great pics, looks like ya got a shooter or two. Thanks for sharing.
|
Nice looking couple of Bucks Mottz.
My Dad's trail cam had 3 possible shooters. They are definitely shedding their velvet now. We did go and look at another property that' coming up for auction. It's going to be auctioned off in a couple of weeks. Were heading back out in 3 weeks to hang some stands and do some more scouting. I don't have any shooters on trail cam yet, but I'm picky. |
We had some good, heavy rains come our way over the weekend. So I took to the deer woods today & found a ton of fresh sign & jumped a couple of big does bedding on the ridge where I put in two new sets back in July. I couldn't be more ready for the season to open. 27 days & counting.
|
Season opens October 1st this year for NY. This is a welcome change as it used to be around the 15th.
Motz, Those are some nice pics! Too bad about the trespasser. |

As for me volunteering for capt., I did so because for the last few years that I've participated, our team captains didn't do much in leading a team, instigating conversation or even checking in more than once or twice every couple of weeks. And when I would take the time to check in daily & see that the capt. didn't, I just figured I'd be a better team capt. Anyways, lets see some trail cam pics fellas. As far as the Doe thread that captains will decide, I vote 25 points for 1 doe per hunter (No rules on shooting before or after a buck). I think it's a nice way to have a hunter participate that is holding out for bigger horns. |

Jared here hunting southern NJ, got a couple small bucks on the trail cam and one id like to shoot. Season opens up the 29th in my zone so only a couple more weeks! I have a little girl on the way expected the end of October or beginning of November so hopefully i get my horns on the ground before she arrives.:happy0001: Ill add a better photo of him when i get back home i took that pic with my cell off the computer screen

Welcome to the team!
Cograts on the pregnancy!...good luck this year! |
Thanks outdoor!
|
Welcome to the team Jared, great to have ya checked in. Congrats on the upcoming youngin. Is it a son or a daughter & is it your first?
And thanks for the vote of confidence Jason, I'll do my best. As for the doe issue, I'm all for adding some bonus points to our final score. How do yall feel about doe harvests being accepted in the contest? Everyone who's already checked in, please make an effort to drop a few lines here on a regular basis please. With that said, yall have a good one, I'm off to get some work done. |
One more thing, vote yay or nay to the name, "Team Passin Thru".
If it's good with you guys, I'm going to change our thread title to our official team name & I'll also drop my name in the Capt. thread. |
Im good with that name, and yes it is my first little one a little girl.
|
that name sounds good to me, ill be on tonight and post some trail cam pics.

here they are, nothing huge but a few "fair" ones in my opinion.

Does that first buck have a split brow tine on his left side? And that last buck has a real spread, he's growing em out past the ears. Those are some good looking deer.
|
yea he does have a split brow, the 2 bigger ones were running together all summer long on the other side of the property which is 2 miles away. land owner run his cattle in and the deer moved to the west side so now i have to re-pattern them.
|
Well good luck figuring them out. Ide like to see that split brow buck on our score card soon. 8)
|
I've messaged our remaining team members who have yet to check in, so we should be hearing from them soon.
|
Greetings friends! Jesse checking in. Pleasure to be on board. Looking forward to being part of the team. Air Force guy here hunting in southwest Wisconsin, mainly Richland County. Cashed in last year with my first bow wall hanger buck finally. Hoping to do even better this year. Things are looking quite well deer wise over my way. Mild winter is to thank for that. I'll share my deer cam pictures shortly.
|
Welcome Jesse, its an honor to have a Serviceman amongst our team here. And its a pleasure to have a Wisconsin hunter here. We'll be expecting a P&Y buck on the score card from ya. So no pressure. 8)We'll also be looking forward to some pics from ya. So post em up so we can all drool over them.
|
welcome jesse, hopefully you can get another bruiser this year.
|
P&Y huh??? Wow no pressure!! Seriously, things are lining up to be one of the best seasons ever. I've got probably 5 shooters I am keying in on. The big boy already has the nickname "the halo buck' Let me get a picture of him up so you can see what I mean.....

Wow! You just blew my pics out of the water!! That is 1 cool looking buck! Welcome to all you guys that have showed up. I looked this morning on here, then looked again now and it jumped up 2 pages. Doesn't anyone have jobs anymore:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: Thats awesome, I'm a big BS'er. So what I'm hoping for with this team is we win this, and we also have the highest activity to our thread. Team chat! Who's with me??
Heres a little about myself. My name is Ryan, 37 yrs old, have a wife and a 16 yr old daughter and a 5 year old son. He's gonna be my follower:biggrin: Work construction, mainly basements under houses, concrete and so on but I do everything with house construction. Heres a pic from a couple years ago of my ugly mug and my little man. And biggest buck as of today(rifle). But I'm hoping to change that. ![]() |
Oh and since I have my photobucket open, and my wife says I am obsessed with hunting she said, I'm suprised you don't have tattoos of it. So I did.
![]() I just had to get the kids names in there somewhere and I think it works |
Yeah, never saw brow tines turn in quite like that... Its like a circle almost hence the "halo" buck.... That is also a small drop tine on that left main beam too..... Thats just a couple of the buck I have caught on cam this summer. As typical, the last run of pix showed the bachelor groups breaking up now. Back in july thru mid august I would have groups of 3 or 4 bucks at a crack. Now they are breaking into single shots. Also had the first bone rack show up on the 2nd of Sep. Definitely like chatting up with a group of folks. Kind of nice to have a ton of posts to read etc.
|
Great pics fellas. I love that halo buck, he's one in a million.
And some fine ink there Mottz. Keep the pics coming. |
