holly ****, its over $100. It better be solid. The lonewolf strongarm is cheaper than the Muddy. I'm a gear snob though, so of course I want one. Lol

I've got 4 sons, 3 under 3. So we love us some Chuck E. Cheese. 8)
I think I'll be getting some coyote tags in the winter.

Idk, never looked into it before.

Arkansasmountainman 09-23-2012 07:17 PM

id say its a free for all, you can be a mass coyote murderer!!! superior KILLABILITY

On_Point 09-23-2012 07:37 PM

I've got a Ruger Mini 14 here that would agree with you. Hahaha

Bowman4440 09-24-2012 02:00 AM

Yo guys all this conversation without me?! Checked the trail cameras sunday, lots of does and scrub bucks. I know ill have meat for the freezer at least cuz each cam has 6 or 7 does on it at a time they are eating me out of the woods. Good job on the does fellas putting us on the board early!:barmy:

Bowman4440 09-24-2012 02:01 AM

Coyote hunting is an absolute blast when they come in to the call. They are really smart critters.

Mottz 09-24-2012 03:47 AM

The only time I get coyotes to come in is when I'm calling for turkeys in the spring. That must say something about my calling:rolleye0011:

dmax4me 09-24-2012 04:51 AM

Went to Ohio this weekend and hung a couple of stands and a trail cam. I found out that there seems to be more hunters hunting this property than we originally thought. I can't complain though, it's a place to hunt with good potential.
We didn't get the 207 acres in Muskingum County at the auction we were trying to buy. I guess 2nd place counts for something.
Congrats to the doe kills guys.
Saturday is our 1st day!

sdhunter11 09-24-2012 06:59 PM

any of you guys check the score card thread lately, trophy hunter 22 got a very unique buck.

Bowman4440 09-25-2012 01:52 AM

Everything was completely still so I slowly went to stand up and all I seen was a tail take off running. So I messed that opportunity up. Then seen 3 more does in the middle of the field when I heard some big footsteps breaking branches coming towards me. Heart was pounding when he stepped out. Man he was big. But wait a minute, why the heck is there a bull coming into the beans?? So I called up the landowner quick and we ended up having to chase this bull around to get him back to the pasture. Always next weekend!

That's hilarious!!! I can imagine getting all pumped up thinking there is a beast coming through...then the disappointment of the WTF moment! That's crazy!

Good goin SD for putting us on the board!!! She looks tasty! nice shot too!

Outdoorcountry 09-25-2012 08:45 AM

Mntman...congrats on your doe too! I can't wait till monday!

On_Point 09-25-2012 12:15 PM

I went into town in search of some Rage Xtreme broadheads but after 2 hours of going from store to store, I came up empty handed. Ended up purchasing a set of 125gr Rage Slipcams. They're my first experience with mechanicals & I'm going to keep my G5 Montects in my quiver but I'm going to retire the Muzzys & give these Rage Slipcams a fair shot.
I hope they're worth the $$$$.

Arkansasmountainman 09-25-2012 03:31 PM

i dont think you will be disapointed in those Rages, but try to find the xtrem, its a bigger cut, i like rage cause the fly exactly like a field point

On_Point 09-25-2012 04:20 PM

The 3 pack came with a practice head, which I like. The cut diameter is 2". My Montecs are 1 1\8 That's a huge difference in killability.

jemrami9 09-25-2012 04:28 PM

Greetings friends! Just getting caught up from the weekend here. Didnt make it out sunday. Did go shoot however. All ready to go. Got the 8 year old shooting a bow for the first time. He loved it. The seed is planted for sure. Taking leave Thursday and Friday. Hitting the woods thursday. Updates to follow!

On_Point 09-25-2012 06:40 PM

Good luck Jesse.

Outdoorcountry 09-26-2012 03:01 AM

I like the Montecs for early season when there is still a lot of leaves on the trees. They seem to be a little more forgiving if you nick a twig or golden rod stem. I switch to the Rages once the leaves are off the trees because they do fly better and make a BIG azz hole!

-Come on Monday!

Bowman4440 09-26-2012 03:38 AM

Yea im gonna be giving the rages a go this year all my buddies shoot them but ive always stuck with my thunderhead 100's. I think ill jsut try the standard 3-blade rage. The titanium ones are 70 bucks for 3 thats ridiculous idk about you but i dont need titanium for busting hearts and lungs!

Saturday is our 1st

Where you hunting in Harrison. Thats where i live, i Hunt there and Jefferson. I can't wait for Saturday i've been out all week watching my plots from a distance! now i can't wait to get in the stand.

Outdoorcountry 09-27-2012 05:56 AM

Bad news: lost my hunting lease because a couple goose hunters (in the lease with me) left ruts in the farmers field with their pickup when picking up decoys.
Good news: got an invite to hunt some new land with a friend. It holds bicg bucks as it borders a nature preserve.

Soso news. Ny passed a youth only gun weekend hunt for columbus day weekend. Think i'll stay out of woods that weekend. Glad they are encouraging youth participation though.

On_Point 09-27-2012 07:13 AM

Glad ya found a back up property to hunt. Here in Il bowhunters can still hunt during youth season, so I usually take my bow with us. My 11 yr old is psyched, he's convinced he gonna bring home a B&C.

...nothing wrong with confidence! I hunt areas that get a lot of pressure so I get a little nervous walking in the woods when I know there could be anxious youngsters with guns!
i'm all for them getting out there though!

Arkansasmountainman 09-27-2012 10:02 AM

went this morning, seen 19 turkeys but no deer, it was a blast anyway!!!

I've always liked hunting near public land. Ya get the pressured deer coming into the private land hoping to get some peace & quiet. Makes for a good ambush.

On_Point 09-27-2012 12:06 PM

I've edited & restructured our teams first thread post here so it can be used as a personal team scorecard. Enjoy.

Arkansasmountainman 09-27-2012 05:04 PM

thanx for the effort as team captain Jason, we can check our scores faster that way....

sdhunter11 09-27-2012 06:40 PM

Well, i went out today after work. With about 20 minutes left of shooting light i had 2 bucks coming my way, the biggest one was probably pushing 140, i was stoked. Anyway, they where eating acorns and slowly working their way toward me. When they got to about the 20 yard mark the wind took a complete 360 degree switch in seconds. The little buck came right under my stand and started sniffing around while the big guy blew off about 10 different times and started stomping his feet. Finally the big one also came right under my stand. With about 10 minutes left of light he nervously walked right into a shooting lane at 13 yards. I was just about at full draw when the small one jumped about three feet and sent the big one running out to 20 yards behind some brush. They both milled around me until after dark then they finally headed up the draw and out of my life. If the wind would not have switched and if that little one would not have jumped my evening probably would have ended with a nice buck. I think that was mother nature's way of saying F*** You buddy.

On_Point 09-27-2012 07:26 PM

Mother nature is a cruel bitch. I think we can all relate. Oh the stories that could be told. Did they ever look up at ya or did they just catch the scent. Keep at em man, you'll catch em slippin up & then 'THWACK!'.

Outdoorcountry 09-28-2012 02:57 AM

Nice SD...got my heart pumpin just thinking about it!
Jason...thanks for the work on the thread. Initial post reorganization looks great!

Bowman4440 09-28-2012 03:19 AM

Yea mother nature can be a cruel b***h, Season starts tommorow here in nj not sure if im gonna sit or not high of 69 so it should be in the low 50's at sunrise. Might head out jsut because i wont be able to hunt the afternoon due to a baby shower for my girlfriend figures its on opening day:confused0024:

On_Point 09-28-2012 04:22 AM

Hell, I'd get out there to kill a doe just to have it hangin for all the girls to see tomorrow afternoon. Nothing like a fresh deer kill at a baby shower. 8)

yea the little one did that " stick ur nose straight up and sniff thing" alot when he was underneath me, I think he might have seen my arms move when i started drawing, the big one couldnt because he was quartering away and looking away.. I just cant believe they hung around that long even after they smelled me. I am going to let that stand cool off for about a week then i will go back when the wind is right and set my trail cam in there and see if they are still using that draw during daylight or if they skipped the county.

sdhunter11 09-28-2012 04:41 AM

I actually didnt even plan on sitting in that stand, We had a south wind all day and about the time i was getting off work we had a some cloud cover come through and the wind switched out of the north east. The front had just moved out and the wind switched back from the south when those buck were there. Yup thats why i believe mother nature really had it out for me on that hunt. But i consider myself relentless so maybe one of these days i can give her the finger back.

On_Point 09-28-2012 04:53 AM

Relentlessness is what it takes man. Its what sets bowhunters apart from the orange army
