Well I'm back from a week of bow hunting and didn't bring anything down as we practice QDM and all I saw in rang were 1.5 year olds. Did see a nice 10 out at 80 yards so hopefully he'll cross my sight lines this weekend as the WI gun season starts. I'll be hunting all 9 days so I hope to get us on the board.
Good luck to all heading out the woods today and this coming weekend.

I saw why I hav't been seeing any deer.
A black dog was chasing the deer.
I saw a black dog chasing one of the bucks, on the trail cam, and I thought I saw a coyote running to.
Stupid dogs, and coyotes.

My rifle season ended on Tuesday and it wasn't productive. I did get a doe at last light during the week and by the time I had her gutted and hung I was tired and didn't think of getting a picture. I hunt on over 900 acres and we only had 3 deer killed this year. Compared to the 11 killed last year, I would say it was a very slow year. The weather was just to warm and windy.
I did pass on a decent 9 or 10 one morning. And when I say pass, I mean it came up on my off side and I couldn't get in a position I was comfortable with to shoot him. I do think he is a 3.5 yr old, so if I get a better look at him I still may let him walk.
I still have muzzleloader season in a couple of weeks so I hope I can pattern the bucks for the few days I will be able to hunt. I plan on moving my cameras back to the trails and off the scrapes tomorrow. I think the second rut may hit during that week so it may end up being good after all.
Now, back to hopefully getting out with my bow. I have 3 weeks before ML starts but this time of year is always busy so who knows.
Good luck all who still have time left.
