Shot a small 8pt a few days ago. Field dressed 150 lbs though! The hunting was hard this year. Just too many people out on the public lands. The Game Warden said that there was on average 1 person for every 49 acres. Needless to say the deer never got back to the usual patterns. I'll post a pic here in a little bit an try to get the score going. Hope yall have better luck than me!

Congratulations,
Way to go Kelly,
I was out this morning, and got busted.
They always get you from behind.
I was sitting there, and stood up to stretch my legs, and I started watching a huge squirrel.
Next thing you know, behind me Thump.
So you know what happened next.
I will keep going until I prevail.
It will happen, Soon I hope.

So close, but yet so far.
I had deer walking all around me this afternoon.
I am hunting close to houses, and one of the people decided to use a leaf blower until it was so dark you coudn't see.
Hopefully monday morning it will be quiet.
I am getting close, just no cigar.
I hope every one else is doing better than I am.

This weekend is the second season for shotgun. I did take a nice doe during the first season. Things can only get better this weekend...

No pics, took her lateand the light was fading fast, and it was a mad rush to get her and my buddys deer out and to the check station. Plus both deer where dropped at the at the other end of the property from where we park. Besides, I plan on putting another down this weekend...

After spotting this bad boy as well as a couple other nice bucks) on one of our cams, we let our newest hunting partner (who was looking to score his first buck) use a stand not far from the cam. After about 30 minutes, we here the shot, He states on the radio that he just nailed a bruiser buck. He didn't realize that it was this big boy as he only saw some of his rack and he was really just trying to make the shot , not to get buck fever to bad. After he found him laying near a downed log, he could barely breath and that he was just going to faint. I would have felt the same...He had 19 countable points and a 24 inch inside spread, right now he is at the taxadermy man who will give him a call after he scores him. The rough guess right now is between 180 and 190...
