Antler Eater 11-25-2011 05:35 PM

Louie 6014 someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe you have an h4 measurement to take yet...

iamyourhuckleberry 11-25-2011 07:48 PM

Yep, an h4 measurement is missing.

ManofTheFall 11-25-2011 07:51 PM

Louie, use my score as a guide on scoring your buck. It looks like you left off your 4th H measurement and I did not see the length of each main beam either. There are always 4 H measurements no matter what size the buck is. Try putting the tape on it again and let us know. Also we are only interested in gross score. We aren't taking any deductions in this contest. Right now my computer is acting up so I can't see any pictures. Here is a sample of my score to use as a guide:

RMB - 21 7/8 LMB - 21 5/8
Inside Spread - 17 4/8
R G1 - 5 5/8 R H1 - 5 4/8
R G2 - 8 2/8 R H2 - 3 5/8
R G3 - 7 5/8 R H3 - 4 2/8
R G4 - 2 3/8 R H4 - 3 3/8
R G5 - 1 3/8
Abnormal Point R 1 1/8
L G1 - 5 4/8 L H1 - 5 2/8
L G2 - 8 3/8 L H2 - 3 4/8
L G3 - 7 3/8 L H3 - 3 3/8
LG4 - 3 2/8 L H4 - 3 2/8
TOTAL SCORE = 144 1/8

louie6014 11-26-2011 06:32 AM

The h4 is 1/2 the length between the tip of the main beam and the non present g3 so you use that # twice. I guess my gross score is 57-4/8 then. If this looks correct Ill submit it, and I added the main beam lengths.

RMB: 11-2/8 - LMB:10-5/8
INSIDE SPREAD: 9-1/8
RIGHT ---------- LEFT
g1: 1-5/8 ------- 1-2/8
g2: 2-7/8 ------- 3

h1 2-5/8 ------- 3
h2 2-3/8 ------- 2-4/8
h3 2 ------ 1-5/8
h4 2 ------ 1-5/8

iamyourhuckleberry 11-27-2011 06:41 PM

I had a little luck in Nebraska this past weekend. On Saturday morning, I managed to shoot every arrow in my quiver. I missed a coyote at 50 yards, killed one at 10 yards, shot a doe at 15 yards and missed one at 23 (she totally jumped string on me). On my last shot, my string jumped the bow's lower cam track. My bow was dead in the water. Luckily, the gents I hunted with had a press. I was able to get my bow back into working condition for an evening hunt. I proceeded to arrow a second doe Saturday evening.

Here are some pictures:

ManofTheFall 11-28-2011 10:56 AM

Louie, 57 4/8" looks to be correct. Congrats on the buck.

ManofTheFall 11-28-2011 10:28 PM

I know right, glad to score some points, alot of teams havent even got 2-3 entrys. We have 4 and are in 3rd not by a lot. Team three will be hard to beat, they are stackin up 120" plus bucks = 5 of them. Didnt we have some no shows on our team> and never got sub's? Good luck everyone, even if your working on your second tag.. I intend to fill mine...

henson59 12-02-2011 10:41 AM

I have been pretty limited in my hunting the past couple weeks. I had my gun season but havn't really had a chance to get back out with the bow. After this weekend of gun hunting I should be able to get out and hit it hard on the weekends with my bow.

Antler Eater 12-02-2011 06:26 PM

I got a buck to put on the scoreboard for our team but it might take me a couple of days to get him scored because of my work schedule.

ManofTheFall 12-02-2011 08:09 PM

Congratulations Antler Eater!!!!! Can you at least clue us in on what the score might be close too?

Antler Eater 12-03-2011 12:49 PM

He is decent (easily over the 120" mark), I would like to attempt to do him justice with a bit of the story as well as the score.

ManofTheFall 12-03-2011 07:17 PM

Sounds great!!!!! I can't wait to read the story and see some pics. Once again, Congratulations!!!!!

Please post a pic without your full camp on. This contest isn't under sharia laws. I tried to pm you but your box is full.

Nice looking buck.

youngfart 12-04-2011 11:31 AM

Fieldmouse
That's just Antlereater, he takes those pictures all the time. Some guys do and there is no rule against it. Oh yeah great buck Antlereater. The last few years I've always wondered what you look like LMAO!
Rocky:wave:

Fieldmouse 12-04-2011 01:54 PM

Yes, there is a rule. Call me skeptic ( tribute to rob) but I want to see the pic.

fshafly2 12-04-2011 03:09 PM

Congrats AE! I knew you'd post a good one - well done!!

Not sure what you are refering to or what you mean for that matter. Are you infering that it is not me?

I'm asking you to post a pic of you, the deer and the bow. I'm not inferring anything other than to qoute Rob from the rules he has come up with. In all the years this contest has been running, I have yet to have seen a single entry accepted in full camo. It's a great pic, but I'm not ready to put it on the score card.

youngfart 12-05-2011 04:50 AM

Fieldmouse
In all the years Antlereater has entered deer I have yet to see his face and not Rob nor Christine has said anything about the full camo pictures,so where are you going with this? Don't try to run other contestents away from this site, it's just a for fun contest!:rolleye0011:
Rocky

ManofTheFall 12-05-2011 11:22 AM

Great job Antler Eater!!!!! That is one awesome buck!!!!! I thought when you said you were sure he was at least a 120" it would be a nice buck. I sure didn't expect to see a 182" incher. That is definitely awesome!!!!! I love that drop tine. Hopefully Fieldmouse can get over himself and let it in. This puts us back in the game. Let's go guys don't give up yet. There are still some nice bucks out there to be taken. The 2nd rut should be kicking in and with it getting colder and snowing in some places they will be hitting the food sources hard and also looking for the 2nd round of doe's coming in to heat. Good luck to all. We can still win this!!!!!

Antler Eater 12-05-2011 06:20 PM

Fieldmouse, with all due respect, I will say this as politely as I know how.

youngfart, says rob has accepted his pics in the past with full camo. I personally don't recall it.
How many years have you participated in the Hunting net deer (bow) contest??? I remember you being in the contest before you became a mod (as I recall you shot an Onieda way back when)....Yet you don't remember my full camo pics that were posted every year since the contest's inception???

Your argument has no basis...Contrary to your claims there is no rule to force someone to take a picture for the contest that is not in full camo! Even if I were to show my face, would you recognize me???? Obviously not...

So my question to the captains, has an entry been allowed in the past without revealing who it is? Two, is this an acceptable entry for this contest?
Question one... I suspect you know the answer to this already? If not, don't you have access to archives so see if it has been allowed (you know, being that there is no rule and all!!) Have you asked Rob? Let me help you out.

Hunting net bowhunting contest 2005 entry (Rob would remember this photo because he pulled it from the archives for a different thread a number of years ago.)

Hunting net bowhunting contest 2006 entry

Hunting net bowhunting contest 2007 entry

Hunting net bowhunting contest 2008 entry

Hunting net bowhunting contest 2009 entry

2010 Hunting net bowhunting contest entry

Question two...What does it tell you that I have been posting these pictures for the contest since the annual bowhunting contest began??? Whether you deem it "acceptable" or not really has no bearing on this years contest. If you want to make a rule change that is fine, I am not going to change mine.

This is the internet, there are no guarantees that the images whether masked or unmasked of a person sitting beside a deer is the person who actually killed it. Of the kills that are on our scoring thread I recognize the bucks equally as well as I recognize the people in the photos. In other words I don't know who the people are or what they look like, yet I accept the premise they killed that deer and I have no problem with that. Why would I have a problem with someone in full camo?

Honestly, this arguement is so elementary if it were not for nine other guys on team eleven I wouldn't even bother to address the issue.

Antler Eater 12-05-2011 06:26 PM

I posted the above here also so Team 11 would know what is going on...I owe you guys that much.

ive been here from the beginning. On the first winning team. I'm sorry I don't recall your pics in that fashion. You could have cleared this up right away had you chose to instead of dragging it out as you did. I even tried to do this off line but your mailbox is full. I stated my reason why, let's move on.

Now that you mention that, I even remember you being on that team.

It is true my mailbox would not accept any more mail, nothing about this was intentional however. Tonight was the first opportunity I have had to address the issue you brought up. You have every right to your opinion, I accept that without issue, but the way you presented it leaves a lot of room for improvement. To assail an individual in the fashion you did will cause people to take a dim view (at best) of our site.

I have presented the facts...I can move on. :patriot:

blakefrautschi 12-05-2011 07:51 PM

Antler Eater.... WHAT ARE THOSE DEER EATING DOWN THERE!? I have to get me some of that! Congrats on another unbelievable (i guess actually unbelievable for some:p) buck!

louie6014 12-06-2011 05:28 AM

Ant Nice buck! All those deer from the past years are very impressive. Its funny... Im on another message board for fishing and the guy always holds his bass infront of his face when he posts pictures, It reminds me of Wilson next door to Tim Allen in tool time. But some people just dont wanna put their mug all over the internet for people to see.

ManofTheFall 12-06-2011 08:09 AM

Well guys, I'm glad that mess is taken care of. Hopefully now we can put a couple more on the board and win this thing. I know there have been a couple team members that checked in early then we haven't heard a thin from them. I think I will try and PM them and find out what is going on. Good luck to all that is still trying out there. Hunt hard and hunt safe!!!!!

iamyourhuckleberry 12-09-2011 05:14 AM

Awesome job antler!

Let's pour it on guys! We can do this!

youngfart 12-09-2011 05:21 AM

You really think so!

Well guys! It's been since before Thanksgiving that I've been out. Gun season ended about a week ago. My son and I will be going back out tomorrow evening to try and nail one. The 2nd rut ought to be kicking in so he will be sitting in our best stand for bucks and I'm hoping to pick off another doe. I will let you all know how it goes. Hey Antler Eater! Those are all awesome looking bucks. What state are you in again? With the size of those big boys it's got to be the midwest. One more buck guys will put us over the top. Let's get out there and nail a big one. Good luck to you all!!!!!

iamyourhuckleberry 12-10-2011 08:08 PM

Kendra,

What's happening in Illinois?

ManofTheFall 12-23-2011 07:29 PM

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!!!! Good luck!!!!! There are still bucks out there to be had, One more and it's possible we can win this thing!!!!!
