NICE bird hunt12ga!! He's got some hooks on him for sure, good lookin turkey bud! This is my last week to hunt and I'm bogged down with a senior design presentation and a paper in another class. Not sure if I'll get to go again but hopefully I can make it out one more time. Even if I do I'm not too certain there's another bird around since that old man has wreaked havoc on 'em in that area. Now all I can do is bust some coyotes and coons and hope for a good hatch. Overall I'm not pleased with my season this year, sure glad Todd picked up my slack down here in Dixie! Good luck to everybody, maybe we'll pull it off!

Very nice!!! Great bird hunt12ga! Congrats. I have never done much decoy hunting for turkey for two basic reasons. One, they only legalized them in Alabama just a few years ago. And two, most of the places I hunt are heavily wooded and by the time the bird could see them they would probably be in gun range anyway. But I know guys that have used them in field set ups and they tell me that they work great.

Even if they don't always work, those strutting decoys look awful cool sitting in front of you!

I'm all ickied up with the flu or something. May miss work tomorrow, but hopefully I'm feeling well enough to hit the woods this weekend. One more tag to fill, and I'm hoping for some more good luck. This is the first year I've shot more than one longbeard so 3 may be pushing it. Ya never know though!

Thanks for the congrats. Hopefully we're handing them out soon to you too Strut! A nice morning in the woods may be exactly what you need to clear your mind and ace those assignments. I know those school projects can get hairy, but I think hunting and fishing are what helped me make it through college! Maybe Cap' Morgan had something to do with it too...

Guys, the stickers are in and I should be receiving them soon. If you want one, and I'm sure you all do, pm me your address and as soon as I receive the stickers I will mail them out.

Great bird hunt12ga.

I spend a few hours in the woods on Monday but didn't see or hear a thing due to the 20 mph winds. I still have three more weeks of season in GA so I still have a chance.

We had crazy bad storms last night and everything looks like a giant pond around here. I woke up to a downpour and went back to sleep. I woke up again at about 5:30 and it had stopped so I geared up and hit the backroads. I didn't see a single turkey in 3 trips around the bottoms. I went ahead and set up in a likely turkey-slaying spot and saw nothing. I packed it up for the day so I can spend a little time with the family and get some rest. I've got ONE more day to fill my last tag. It will be a short day in the woods, so I'm going to need luck on my side in the morning!

Well, I still have a week left to bag 2 birds. I am sure I can make it happen. Have been guiding others on getting theirs, so now it is my turn.
