Team #27 "Treetop Terrors"
Team 27
Here is a link to the contest rules. http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/2010...est-rules.html |
Welcome Guys. Glad to be a part of the team. My name is Andy and I am from SC. I will be hunting here in SC for the majority of the season but will be spending a week and a half in Fulton County Illinois.
|
LLBUX checking in. I'm from ILLINOIS.
Good luck boys! |
Carpsniper checking in. Public land in IL is where I hunt. The upside is that in one day I had a 165" buck at 40 yards in the morning and a 200" NT at 8 yards in the afternoon. Downside is it's EAB and I didn't have my second antlerless.
Hoping for better luck this year. Good luck to all my team mates. |
Of the 4 that are checked in 3 are hunting in Illinois and one in Kentucky. Not a bad start.
I will try and PM the rest of the members to get them to check in. Also if everybody will start throwing out some names for the team. |
Team Bloodtrail?
|
Hey, Goalie35 checking in... I hunt in Wausau, WI mostly family owned land. Checked the cam the other night and a pretty decent 8 point was the only buck on there.

Welcome Trigger and Goalie.
I was able to sneak out yesterday and seen 6 does. All of them were over 100 yards away. Going to try and get back out again Thursday. |
Hey guys. Just checking in! Sorry about the wait, i have been busy. Good Luck i will be hitting the woods in a couple weeks when it cools off
|
|
Still no team name ideas? I liked HNIChristine's idea for her team - team Underwire (as in bra), "We hold up the big racks". Her team didn't use it. ??? Go figure.
I have a great idea for an avatar for that name, but it might get me banned. :D |
Here are some name I have found on the net.
Treetop Terrors Broadhead Bandits Pass Thru Posse The Long Shots The Bone Heads Animal Control Booners N Racks PETA Beatas Exit Wounds Tree Top Terminators Ruttin Rampage Just thought I would throw some out there. Any suggestions would be helpful. I'm guessing that we will also need to elect a captain. |
Treetop Terrors
i kinda like the name Treetop Terrors but the Team Underwired one
|
I like Pass thru Posse and Tree Top Terrors.
|
I'm starting to wonder if the other 3 are going to show. I checked to see how long it had been since they had been here and one was the 14th another was the 17th. How long do we need to give them?

I would probably say give them till Monday then go from there. We need to have some nominations for Team Captain. So my nomination is for obsessed bowhunter. |

I also liked Pass thru Posse for a team name. Team "Next Champions" could get some atention. :lmao: As long as we are not "Tag Soup" I'm ok with it. :s4: |

I second that.

Hey Guys, I am checking in.... Good to be on a team. I am hoping in will run into a big boy this year in PA. I have been seeing a 140 and 130 class buck, I know that I have a 160+ buck on our farm tho... Anyway Lets Rock and Roll.....
|
8 outa 10 checked in so far. Does anyone have any experience with this contest? This is my first time, at least online, anyway. I hope the others check in soon, don't want to be behind before we get started....lol. Pass Thru Posse would be fine with me too.:barmy:
|
im not sure how this contest works either. would like to know the basic. I am in one on the Archerytalk forums as well and they do 75 points for a buck or if they score better they score them by their score of the rack. For does they score em for 50 points i believe.
Heres a bit about myself: Im 13 im from missouri...I will be hunting in kansas on some private property(about 300 acres). we have some pics of a 145ish 11 point and a couple other bucks but they are just from one of the front fields by the road. we have a cam by our stand but we havent had the chance to get out and check it so hopefully we have some on it. Im shooting a Hoyt Maxxis 31 set at 55#/26"DL with Easton ST Axis Infused 500s and a rage 40ke 2 blade on the end. :woot: Good Luck guys! |
goskab21 checking on, sorry it took so long... I hunt in eagle river WI, northern part of the state. We opened 9/18 Got a really nice ten on camera so hopefully I'll get a chance at him
|
That is 9 of us. If at all possible, could we post and email address for each of us so, we can contact everyone. Mine is [email protected] or [email protected] the yahoo address is also my IM address for yahoo. In case someone goes a week or two without checking in. It would put my conscious at ease a little more. I will email any of our team members my cell phone number too, if someone needs to call or text me. We still need to pick a name and a captain as well.

This is my 3rd or 4th year in this so if you have any specific questions let me know. You only get the score of the rack in this contest and you have to use your first buck of the season. You will need a picture of you with your trophy and your bow. This is an absolute must. A doe does not count in this contest. I will help any way I can. The main thing is have fun. |
Everybody please put a vote out for Captain and Name. We need to get this out of the way. Here is where we stand as far as Captain and Team name. Captain: Obsessed bowhunter = 2 Votes Team Name: Tree Top Terrors = 1 Vote Pass Thru Posse = 2 Votes (I said I like both but my vote is here) |
My vote for catain goes to SCBigBuckHunter cuz you have been in the contest before. I like Team Exit Wound too....lol. Gettin ready to go find some big oaks droppin acorns. (hopefully)
|
1 vote for obsessed and 1 vote for the posse.
|
Hey Guys, sk74ford checking in. Sorry I haven't been online in a while. Once deer season is on its way I will be on alot. I will be hunting in Southwest Indiana.
|
I will vote also for Obsessed Bowhunter as captain. Treetop Terrors sounds good. But anything will be all right for me.
|
Guys...i contacted HNI_Christine about a user name change so my name may be changed to BowJunkie9-1-1 Just giving you guys a heads up. hope it wont cause problems
|
GREAT!!!! We have all 10 team members checked in. Glad to see it. I went scouting today and jumped 3 deer, found a bunch of white oaks dropping like crazy and heard a deer blowing in the distance. I don't think it was blowing at me because the wind was blowing the opposite direction. Found a few rubs today as well. I am hunting a fairly new Wildlife Management Area in NE KY. as it has only been open for 6-8 years now. It is the first year I have been there and so far I am liking it fairly well.
I noticed that there is a Blood Trail Posse so, maybe Treetop Terrors? |
Here is where we stand as far as Captain and Team name. Captain: Obsessed bowhunter = 4 Votes SCBigBuckHunter = 1 Vote Team Name: Tree Top Terrors = 3 Votes (I changed my vote since there is already a posse team) Pass Thru Posse = 2 Votes |

Hey guys, I'm looking for some opinions on where you think I should hunt.
Green is the path I took scouting yesterday. Red is where I have seen deer movement while scouting. Yellow is a corn field that is not cut and from what I have been told will not be cut. White dots are where I have found oaks that were dropping acorns like crazy. Blue of course is a dried up creek bed. I have hunted once in the steep corner of the field with the corn in it and that is where I saw two bucks and one was a monster. The only problem is there are no trees you can go above 10-12 feet in. When I saw the bucks, I was looking for a tree to hang my stand in...lol. I have hunted the SW point twice where I have seen 4 bucks come out right at dusk when I was pre-season scouting. I haven't seen anything from my stand yet. Would you hunt the corn or move into the oaks? |
I would suggest over the corn field. Seems that the ones you saw were hanging around it when scouting.
My vote is for Obsessed and treetop terrors Got a good feeling about this year, last weekend I passed on a eight and saw four does. My buddy shot an eight and I spent the last two days trying to track but no blood, no arrow, no hair, and no deer, any suggestions? |
East wind tomorrow so I will probably set up on the East side of the corn more towards the middle, down the ridge a bit. Quite a few white oaks on the opposite ridge. Maybe I will get a shot at that bruiser I saw a couple weeks ago. I'm planning on taking a trip to my favorite WMA in Nov. So, if its not a P&Y I'll probably pass until then. The one I saw was....lol.

Here is where we stand as far as Captain and Team name. Captain: Obsessed bowhunter = 5 Votes SCBigBuckHunter = 1 Vote Team Name: Tree Top Terrors = 4 Votes (I changed my vote since there is already a posse team) Pass Thru Posse = 2 Votes |
Didn't get to go today. I haven't slept well the last couple days. I work third shift and had to catch up on my sleep today. I will be in the woods on the 30th no matter what. I still have never killed a deer in the month of Sept. I hope that changes today.
