Got a small 8 pointer on film bout 15 yards from me today. Hoping to get to go tomorrow evening. Only slept bout 4 hours today and now gotta make it through the night...lol

Anyone having any luck? Only time I'm seeing deer is when I'm leaving my stand....lol. Except for the dink I saw the other day. The weather is starting to feel like it's deer season now. High for today was in the lower 60s.

Shot opps both Sat and Sun nites. Nothing big enough just yet.

Took a shot at a turkey Sat evening, cut a dozen feathers off the back. Missed it by that much! //

I am heading out this afternoon. There are a few shooters in the spot I am heading to so hopefully I will get a chance. This weekend I am heading to a spot where there are some bruts for SC. I hope to have some bone on the ground soon.

Saw 3 doe this evening on the ridge over from me. They are bedding there cuz I've jumped them up twice scouting over there. Also, saw 2 more walking out in a corn field.

I can't seem to get any to give me a shot yet. I've seen deer each trip so far. Just the only ones in range are pre shooting hours. :hit:

No bone on the ground but I got a nice doe last night. Man the Shwacker put a hurting on that doe. It was so gruesome I did not even want to take a picture.

Youth season is this weekend, don't know if I'm gonna hunt at all til next week.

:hit:My brother saw a small buck chasing a doe yesterday. He was so tore up he couldn't pull his bow back the first time he tried. Then when he did get it back he forgot to use his peep and missed completely...lol. I loaned him my stand, told him where to set up. Now, looks like I'm gonna have to go kill em for him....lol.:poke:

I spent the weekend with a friend that has a beautiful piece of property that holds some good bucks and it did not disappoint. On Saturday I saw the biggest buck I have ever seen from a stand. The only problem was he was around 115 yards away but man he was a brute. I tried the spot again but closer on Sunday evening and saw a little 8 but not the big boy. I wish I could have stayed and hunted today but unfortunately I have to work. Oh well, maybe he will let me come back and hunt with him after I get home from Illinois. Hope the rest of you had a good weekend!

hey guys just given you an update i bagged a decent eight this past weekend, little disappointed that it wasn't that ten I had on camera but nevertheless its my first buck!! I still got to measure/score the antlers then I'll get the picture up and post it. If I had to take a guess on the score probably 80-100.

Funny thing about this deer is my friend actually shot it 2 weeks ago but we never found blood or the arrow. The thing never showed up on any cameras so we all thought he was a goner, but he showed up for me and gave me a ten yd shot. It only ran 40 yds and when looking at it had we noticed it had a nice wound 1/2 inch under the spine from my buddy's shot.

Awesome, that puts us on the board. This past weekend was youth season here in KY. and this coming weekend is the first muzzleloader season. It's been in the mid 80s for the past few days but is supposed to cool down on Wednesday. I'll be back at it then and possibly go tomorrow in the heat. Congrats on your buck goskab21. haven't been out much here - over 80 this past weekend and i don't get terribly excited about hunting in that heat. hopefully cools off soon.

I am part of a group hosting a paralyzed Iraqi War veteran. He is coming in from PA for a 7 day bowhunt(October 22-28). Army Sergeant Joe Jenkins will hunt a buddy's place in Brown County.

We are holding a get together for Joe on October 28 in Meredosia, IL. It will be held at the Approach Restaurant and commence about 7:30. You folks are all welcome to attend and thank Joe for his service.

I ordered me a new Canon HD camera yesterday and man I am going to be broke by time I get all the accessories I need. The temp is dropping again so maybe we will get some more deer movement early.

Very little time available to hunt past weekend, but did sit Sat nite on a picked cornfield in Brown County. Had a coyote booger the stand while walking in. Saw just one, a spike buck at 90 yards. I hope to get some more time this weekend.

I am part of a group hosting a Wounded Warrior for a six day hunt, October 22-28. Army Sgt. Joe Jenkins was shot and paralyzed while serving in Iraq. He has since suffered three strokes during his rehab. Joe will be using a crossbow due to the extent of his injuries. Joe will be hunting in Brown County.

A get together to honor Joe will be held Thursday, October 28 in Meredosia, IL. It will be held at the Approach Restaurant and commence about 7:30. The public is invited to attend and thank Joe for his service. I hope to see some of you there.

hey guys i apologize it took so long. That night I shot it, it was only a low of 50 degrees so we had to take it to a family friend who is a butcher right away and he didn't get to it till late last week so I just got the antlers back. It scored 93 2/8 not a monster or pope but it got us on the board. good luck out there and keep us posted!!!!

well next week i start doing some sitting in a tree. the plan is to take off wed after work to head north and hunt thurs - sunday, home in time for trickortreat with the fam. work a couple days and head back up north for another 2 days till gun season opens. hopefully i can get some bone on the ground by then. haven't been out a whole lot, but getting rather anxious.

Finally got back into the woods this evening. I saw one deer @ 100 yards coming towards me. Lost it and then saw it again @ 60 yards and then lost it again....lol. Found a fresh scrape on the way out of the woods. It was close to where I was hunting a couple of weeks ago.

Wounded Warrior coming in today. Will meet him Friday night after his first day of hunting. Weather looks rainy for much of his week but we have several Double Bulls and a hard-sided blind ready for him. I'll have the privilege to hunt with him Sat afternoon and maybe again Sunday aft.

Wounded Warrior in camp and enjoying life. Hunting has been so slow, but camp life is great.

4 guys saw nothing Friday. 5 saw nothing Sat I hunted Sunday on my brother's place in Pike County and saw 7 does/fawns. Hopefully things will pick up for the WW. He is here through Thursday when we have a reception planned in his honor. It will be in Meredosia IL at 7:30ish.

I did not get out any and probably won't until I get to Illinois on Sunday. It looks like a front will be going through the first part of the week. Looks like it could be good.

I have 10 days before I get to be in my favorite spot in western KY. I haven't gotten to go much since the weather has gotten good for it.....lol. Bought a new truck today maybe I will be able to go some locally before I head out west. Good luck to you SC and everyone on the team.
