I have one on the radar and will be on him first of October. I hope I get a shot at him, but rather with my muzzy for my team, even if I get him with the bow there are several others that will help our score when I put the crosshairs on em

How many of us are also in the bow contest?
I am and my team has already picked a avitar so I hope no one on this gun team has a problem with me having the bow avitar. Unless someone knows how to set things up to where it changes when I go to another thread. HA HA.
We can wait until a few more check in to choose a team captian.
Just my opinion but it should be one of the old timers on here that has been thru a few contest in the past.
I'm just here to put points on the board for the team, living and hunting in Iowa, that won't be a problem.

I am on a bow team as well and will have the avatar for that so I dont think using them will be a problem

I have been added to your team as an alternate. I am checking in even though my name is not yet on the team list. I hope I can help your team out, last year I was on the winning team and was lucky enough to take a 153". We have seen plenty of bigger bucks this year so things are looking great for the up coming season.

Sorry to lose you from the team, I and everyone on the team hopes and prays that everything will go smooth for you and you make a speedy recovery.
I hope that I'm speaking for eveyone else here, lets go out here and win this for centaur 1 (mike). He has to have surgery and will miss this deer season. Mike was kind enough to drop out instead of leaving us hanging with only 9 members.

I think there was a type-o on 1300woodman cause I cannot find him in the members list :confused:. I did find 130woodman and contacted him just incase there was a type-o.

Checking in thanks Kenny. Names Dan I own a chunk of land in central WI I will be primarily hunting that with a couple other spots. I'm leaving for CO in a week to hunt elk then I'll be back in WI for the the rest of the bow season.

I'll have to check the gun season regs for the cwd zone because I have a buck tag for that and a spot that I have a good deer running around.

Here is a pic of a buck that I have my eyes on the pic was taken in mid July so hopefully he grew a little. There are definetly bigger ones out there, but I will have to see if I have the courage to pass on him.

We only have two that need to check-in and our team will be full. And it looks like we have a very good team, with alot of hardcore deerhunters and some past champs.

It looks like we have several on the team that are also in the bow contest and have already got their avitar for that team so I myself dont think we need to have one special for this team, what do you gents think? We do need to kick around a team name and choose a team captian. Any ideas for name and captian?

I will try and contact the remaining members again. Then we can get this winning team started in the butt kicking that we are going to hand out to the rest of the teams.

I have a long wait before I can start hunting with a firearm here in Iowa, late Nov. for does then early Dec. for reg. gun season and then around christmas for muzzleloader season.
When can you gents get to hunt with a gun?

Almost forgot about going to Missouri the middle of nov.

Only one to go to have a full team. I have sent deerslayer223 two messages to welcome him to the team and sign-in. Maybe I'm doing something wrong and he has not got them.

Weather has been cool here in my part of Iowa, till this week and it is trying to warm up- lower 80's. I'm ready for some cool weather that really gets the blood pumping to hit the woods.

If he hasn't been on-line then he didn't get the messages. A mod might have his e-mail and get a hold of him that way. I will be out of touch for a week or so I will have a computer but I might be to tired to use it. Elk hunting in the rockies life doesn't get any better than that. Good luck to all the people starting to bow hunt.I'll try and check it but if not have have.

season starts tomorrow here in wisconsin but i wont be going out. it'll be 80 degrees and i dont want to sit in the stand and sweat so i have to do hay tomorrow

So Here I am Checking in! Feels funny as I am already on my last hind quarter from my 8 point in full velvet from 2 months ago....I guess truck hits dont count...lol. He may have gone on to produce a few more points and some stickers, but when he hit the tire he broke off the tip and 2 knobs on right side. Good eating , and a good sign of whats to come since he was leaving the bean field I will be setting in stands around. Already seen a 10 pt that has a bullseye on him and several 8's. The ag fields have plumped up the deer in my area, just cant wait to take one legally!

Wis. I know what you mean, hunting in the heat with sweat running down all over your body is not what I want while deer hunting. Down in the 30's at night for me. Nothing over 50 in the say.

Jeff, I have been out of deer meat for a few months, but I will wait until I stick one with my bow. You didn't tear your auto up to bad did you.

i had a buddy who went out yesterday when it was 80 degrees and he was sitting in a blind. he said he about died from the heat. he said he did see 4 does around 7 a.m but none were worth shooting with his bow

I sat in a blind yesterday too...but it was in the shade so it wasn't too bad at all! Saw ma with two fawns at about 5:15 and then a bachelor group about 150 out with a couple 2 1/2 yr olds and another I couldn't make out because of the dark. Not a bad start!

Still got a very long time before I do any hunting with the gun- the weekend before thanksgiving ill be hunting NY

i wish november would hurry up and get here so i can take the rifle out. im going out bowhunting this weekend but i have to come in early because of homecoming. it blows!!!!!! when i have to come in is when all the deer start moving

130, what a great story and the pictures were awesome. Made you feel like you were there with you guys. What a bummer that you two did not get a bloody arrow out of that hunt but sounds like you had a great time minus all the other faces you seen in the woods.

Kenny the faces were part of the hunt. It was funny seeing the look on those guy's faces when they popped out of the woods.:busted:. It was one of the most exiciting elks hunts I have ever been on. Yeah it would have been nice to stick one but that's hunting. In all we saw 10 bulls all under 80 yards that's 10 more than alot of people hunting up there saw.
