Big snow in midwest
 

We got a big snow storm coming in today and tonight.
I can't wait till this weekend, this is going to be fun.
Expecting about 10" total. I love hunting in the snow.
Should have some pictures to share with everybody by sunday evening.

thanks kenny for the tip. i'll have to give that a try next time i take it out. we're getting a monster snow storm here in southwest wisconsin. i'm done hunting bucks with a gun here in wisconsin. sorry i couldn't get us a buck on the ground. i'll be taking a bow out from now on. i'm heading out this weekend for the state wide late doe season. hopefully i'll have some pictures and a story to share with you guys

Good luck to everyone still going, hopefully we can get some on the board. I am going home from school tomorrow to hunt thursday friday and saturday. With my PA buck tag filled from bow season Im not sure if I will be hunting NJ or NY again but hopefully I can get a buck down for us. I also didnt get a picture of my doe but i am sure i will get another one and will make sure i get a pic.

Well guys i got a buck in new jersey today but it wont help our score too much. I was walking around and shot him and dropped him and the group of around 15-20 deer ran right toward me and there ended up being a big 8, big 6, and a decent 8 in the group that i didnt see before i shot. The buck i got is only a 4 point. ill get pics and a score posted up tomorrow probably

I did manage to shoot a big doe yesterday. A buddy and I were doing some two man drives and he run 5 does right to me. I picked the biggest doe out and layed her down at about 80 yards using my cva optima. One down one to go for doe tags during this season then I will get serious hunting bucks when our late muzzleloader season opens on the 21st.
We got some ice last nite so I will get some pics posted later today.

Here is a picture of my buck. I went back to college before I got a chance to score him so I will have to do that on Friday. I got most of Christmas break to hunt NJ with the muzzleloader and can hopefully put one of those bigger bucks down and boost my score up a little. Also i should get another doe and ill make sure to get a picture for those points. good luck everyone

well i'm done hunting here in wisconsin with a gun. sorry i couldn't put anymore points on the board for us. I'll still be on the thread and all that. i just wanted to tell all the guys that can still hunt with a gun good luck!!!!

One more day of 2nd season shotgun and then its all muzzleloader season. I do have a bow tag that I will have to find time for. I can hunt until Jan. 10th then its all done for another year, deer that is.

finally getting my score up, ill post him on the score thread. Scored 48 4/8, i guess points are points though haha

The Holiday gun season starts here on the 24th but my chances are slim to none on taking a buck. I've been out with the bow a couple of times and these deer are gone. If the weather holds true I might have a shot but don't count on it. Have a good holiday season.

we've got a holiday hunt here in wisconsin too. i may try and get out for that so i can get another chance at getting a buck

I will be getting out maybe 2moro afternoon, the weather is getting nasty around here with rain and freezing rain followed by snow. Not sure if I will be able to get anywhere before the weekend after they get the roads passable. I will get out this weekend but have until the 10th of Jan. to fill my muzzleloader tag.

Storm
 

We had freezing rain and sleet yesterday afternoon and 12" of snow last nite on top of the snow we already had and it is suppose to snow another 6" to 8" tonite. I hope that they have the roads cleaned off good enough to go hunting this weekend!

Haven't been online for a bit, but I have some good news. I am leaving for Texas on the 5th for a five day deer hunt. Wish me luck, I will need it this season.

Well guys i'm down to the last three days of the season. I have been seeing alot of deer while hunting.
I hope I did not screw-up last weekend - I passed on 4 bucks that would go around 130" waiting for a bigger one that would come to the food plot but time ran out. I have found them but there are three food plots in the area and I have not been sitting at the one the big boys are using at the time.
Its going to be -20 degrees 2moro morning but i'm going to be hunting all weekend.
Anybody else still hunting?

Last ten minutes of season.
 

I passed on this buck several times the last two weeks but with only ten minutes of the season to go and the freezer empty I went ahead and shot him. 140 yard shot with my cva optima 50 cal. he is not anything that I would normally shoot but with the season and snow that we have had we needed the meat.
He's just a small broke up 8pt but a filled tag none the less, I would of shot a doe but there were none in the feild at the time.
I will get a picture and score up later today. I am glad it's over for the year now we can get on to chasing them gobblers.
