Went to CT Friday PM... shot a small doe around 5:45.. strange shot... arrow hit at an angle and didn't pass through.. deer ran w/ arrow hanging out... climbed down w/ 10 min of light left and went to walk out... saw a ton of blood... more than expected.. took trail for another 25 yards and jumped her... I through another arrow at her and hit it. I then backed out and came back 2 hr later... it was pouring rain out at that point...we looked for 2 hours and never found her... no blood nothing... even the killer blood trail I had earlier was gone... went back Sat AM w/ father in law... found her 15 yards from where I jumped her dead... must have walked by her in the dark & rain 10 times the night before...
Nothing big, but sure will taste good.
Will try to get pic up later today.

Rain...rain....rain....and more rain. Farmers are saying corn harvest will go well into December....This season is a wash, Ive seen 2 bucks ALL season so far thats very odd for here. I have hunted more this year than past years as well. Hopefully a shooter will "slip up" and show himself next week when the rut gets into full swing.

I'm suffering from withdrawl symptoms. I have not been hunting since I took that buck. Family stuff one weekend, fishing tournament the next (was a waste of time too), and house stuff last weekend. This Saturday is Halloween and I'm looking to put an arrow thru something!!

Congrats on the doe Western!

father in law called me last night.. wife's cousin shot a 220lb 6pt w/a 19.5" spread yesterday AM.. A group of 3 (2 small & 1 large) domestic dogs chased it to w/in 15 yards of his stand. Deer went 100 yards... dogs tracked it for him!
Haven't seen it yet, but that must be one big old brute.... anything 200+ around here is HUGE..

Had 2 bucks 20 yards from me tonight, they both raked over the same tree, but they both were 1.5 year olds, small guys, I let them walk. At least I FINALLY seen a buck, its been forever. So the little ones are cruising, that means about a week away from the big ones coming out to play.
