Man it sure has been slow on here. we finaly got into the geese last week. we had two flocks come in and we got our 3 man limit on lesser canadas in no time. i also arrowed my first deer. i have taken several with a rifle but never with a bow so i was pretty excited. we may(doughtful) go out and hunt by a refuge that is like 50 miles away. it is holding at last check 350,000 whitefronts and 75,000 canadas and the feed fields that they are using are holding up to 50,000 a piece and there are manyto chose from hopefuly we can get out this week.

Went out this morning before class on my first solo hunt of the season. My shooting struggled to say the least, it didnt help that i was using BB instead of 4 shot like i am use to i guess i had to have some sort of excuse.
I was able to get my limit after counless misses and still made it to class on time. I figured it would be a fast hunt since i had over 100 mallards in the decoys before shooting light, and the first flock that came in when i could shoot i dropped two nice greenheads. One good thing about this hunt i saw a ton of hens a couple flocks that came in only had 2 or 3 drakes and 7 or 8 hens.
Sorry for the picture size photobucket has not be acting like i want it to lately

It is only a matter of time before we are covered in geese. The refuge that is 50 miles west of us is holding 825,000 geese and there is still more to come. Once that thing freezes quite a few of them head our way.
