Man if we get the snow they are calling for, here tomorrow. Shooting this week will be shakey. Upwards of 10" expected.
-and of course when the thaw comes later in the week..our pal Buckeye will be to busy bailing out his basement..
I'm excited, we haven't had a big snowfall all year.

I shot my personal best round last night (438). I could have broken the 440 plateau if not for the last end of the first game when I had two nines and an eight.
I really feel like my Winn Free flight glove release is holding me back. My release just doesn't feel solid. The glove itself is too big for my hand, and the velcro is so worn that it loosens up on me at full draw. I really need to break down and buy that Truball Pro Diamond Extreme and learnthe thumb trigger with backtension style of shooting.
It's amazing how few X's I'm getting too. I can be in the 10 ring five or six times in a row without getting a single X. It's like I can completely surround the X ring but I just can't get in there for the life of me. Even when I do get an X, it's usually just barely touching the line. A solid center punched X is a rarity for me.
I also think thegreenish yellowpin against the yellow target face is making things harder too. I wish I had a red pin for this league. It's really hard to see that pin against the yellow face.

I'll post my score up in a minute or two. My worst of the year....but I shot it. My arm was killing me by the time I finished.
It may be my last. I haven't missed a week....and I think I can take the last one "off". Been a blast.

Jeff, that tendonitis in the elbow hurts like hell, I know. I was a machine operator for several years, and the doctor eventually told my employer that either I never run that machine again, or I would suffer permanent damage. It acts up on me from time to time though. In fact, it's been bothering me the last couple weeks. I was changing the brakes on my truck and couldn't get a caliper bolt loose.....I was putting some serious pressure on it, and I felt it in my elbow almost immediately. Been hurting ever since...
Do you put one of those arm bands on, just below the elbow? Those help quite a lot, and about 800 mg of Advil....Mine hurt so bad the other day after I pulled an arrow out of a 3D turkey I had tears in my eyes......It hurts bro, I know your pain.

I actually shot this score yesterday at lunch. Check my ends.....it got ugly.
I bought one of those things on the way home. It's not too bad, when I'm not shooting right now.....but when I come to full draw position with the thing on......it's gonna be REAL uncomfortable. I may try it.....but I may not be able to use it. I'm gonna shoot in a 3D Sunday.....but I won't be practicing. I just need to show up to qualify. I'll have to do the same thing next Sunday. HOPEFULLY my lower #age limbs will be here by then.
Take care of yourself. SOunds like yours is still worse than mine (long-term-wise).
Thanks for the note....and the advice. I'll give you a call sometime soon. We haven't rapped in a while

Buckeye..after I finished my round, I shot quite a few with the "lil bitty goose"..wow does that shorten me up. The release itself was very nice, but I would need to increase that draw length.. Next year.

With the weather all goofy, I hope to get a meaningful shoot in this week.
Jeff,
Those arm wrap things work great. I've had the tennis elbow thing flair up on my casting arm. It would hurt so bad just to try and fish. Started wearing one of those and it either really diminishes or keeps away the pain completely.

Boy I had a tough time tonight. I only have one bow right now, and I've had it setup for 3D now for the last week or so, just last night I tore it apart to put the spots gear back on it. Part of that was dropping the poundage back down from the 60ish I've been shooting for 3D. I decided to drop the weight a full turn and a half below where I normally shoot it for indoors (because I prefer 52-55lbs for indoors, and have been shooting at 57 this year), and I didn't realize it but this extra turn and a half ended up making my DL longer in the process. I shot last night in the basement at 10 yards (450 - 42x's) and everything felt good, but when I got to the full 20 yards tonight my range of movement was WAY off. This is a perfect example of how much a small tweak in DL can affect someone, the change for me was probably 1/8" or so. After the first 15 arrows I pretty much had it figured out, but I wasn't able to shoot by pulling hard into the wall like I normally do, I had to shoot from the front of the valley. Even still my range of movement was much larger than normal (evident by my lower than normal X count) because of this DL change. The last game that 27 - 1x end was because I had one shot where shooting from the front of the valley bit me in the arse and I collapsed on the shot shooting one in the dang 7 ring, and I had a tough time mentally recovering from that for the last few ends. I had a nice 445 - 447 game going theredespite the DL problems before that end........[:@].
Anyhow, I've got the DL back to where it should be for the most part. I'm looking forward to finishing up the rest of this league strong, and will work hard every day till next week so that I can hopefully put up a season high score for myself.
