Default peep question

Thought I'd ask this here since I'm in this contest and trying to improve. I was reading Matt/PA thread on 3D shooting and read this:

Also stick to ROUND pin guards and peep sights that properly match the diameter of your pin guard. A proper fit allows just a small halo or ring of light to show around the outer edge of your pin guard when it is perfectly centered.

I would guess this to be true for any type of shooting . If so, my peep is too small.

Yes, I follow the same philosophy. Keep in mind as well that a peep size may need to be changed under different lighting conditions as well. If I shoot the same bow indoors under flour lights, and then outdoors I need to change peeps.

Well Matt.....I'm just not gonna do that (change peeps)...and flour lights suck ass. I hate 'em. Do you use a larger peep for indoors?

I actually use a larger peep outdoors.

That's why you need a super peep. Leave the peep housing there, swap out the insert in 10 seconds.

I jUST put in a SAP peep with the verifier lens.

I hear ya, but they do make those things in different diameters you know.

Thanks Matt. I haven't researched it yet but I guess it's not too hard to change to a different peep? I'm very new to this. I haven't done anything to my bow except adjust the sight.

I've been using a 1/4" Meta Peep and that's just too big for spots. Today I bought a 3/16" and I'll try that out.

I think the 3/16" will allow me to center my 2" housing without as much daylight around the orange ring. It should be plenty big enough to hunt as well.
