Well, no goat with the bow this year. The little bastards are good...! I did get a few awesome photos though, and I heard a bull elk bulge! I'm shifting gears and will be chasing bear and elk next weekend.

Ryan, those are some nice deer!

Sorry to hear that Huck, but that's what keeps us coming back for more. I'm just spending my time getting my arrows ready and other prepping done. Did a little scouting with my Dad on NF land Saturday. Saw some sign but nothing spectacular, though from past experience I know this area is a good one. Seeing acorns, not sure if it's a bumper crop yet, but none on the ground yet, still green.

Hey everybody I just got home from a football game. I had went to ohio to see the browns vs cowboys game. Ive only got about a month now til bow season. I saw a nice little six pointer thursday night befor i left. I hunt vermont so thats a pretty good deer. Im going to try to do the best i can to help are team out. Ive never harvested a deer with my bow so i might end up taking a doe ifI get a chance. Wish they would count for somthing

ryncam,
They do count, for a great set of backstraps and tenderloins! If your regs allow you I'd bust a few does to get the freezer full and work out the jitters.

I personally think the female of most species is harder to kill than the male. Sure there tends to be more of them (girls that is), but that's the partwhich makes it challenging-especially, if you're gunning for a particular doe. You have way more ears, eyes and noses to defeat. There is no shame in shooting a doe with archery gear. I wish the rules for this contest could be changed to actually encourage the harvesting of does. Really, most of the country is in dire need of reducing the doe population! So...I guess it counts a lot to me! Wack away! Have fun and the rest will come easy!

Reminds me of the ol saying huck thatthe difference between killing a mature buck and a mature doe
is that there are more doe's. I use to have it on my sig but it went something like this.

I would love to send a pic, but I dont have picture mail on my phone and to view it I have to go online. Otherwise I would be glad to.
As far as shooting does... Love it. actually I have three doe tags and i'm really gunning, er, bow-ing to fill all three this weekend, but i'll be happy with just one. the spot I found tho I think will permit me to get all of em filled. lets hope so!
