Just got off of the phone with one of the guys that lets me hunt his property. I have taken 3 doe off of his property over the past 2 seasons. Saw 1 small spike horn too. Very close to home. Great for quick after work hunts. He has seen some good bucks there over the past couple of years, but I have yet to encounter them! :)

My buddy shot this guy Tuesday PM (2nd day of CT). Hit him back and went back and recovered next AM. This is a very good buck for the area... Crappy pic from cell phone though...

Had about a 140 ten point come in last nite (Wednesday nite) come in on me, about 80 yards out, no wind, but the little bit there was, was out of the nw, the buck came in on the sw.

Here is the funny part, I tried to first of all, get the camcorder on him, but hunting out of a big maple in the middle of a clear cut (imagine huge bushy tree with leaves all the way to the ground, kinda a Cousin It type of tree) the window in the leaves i was trying to film him through, well it just wasn't working and I was also filming directly into the sun.

So, I put the camera away, and brought up the binocs, he instantly looked up at me, and kept looking at me long enough that it became a bit of a strain holding up the binocs (dang bino buddies) he finally looked away, turned around walked off 20 yards, snorted twice and ran back the way he came.

Only thing I can think of is would a buck spook off on the reflection of the sun on glass? There was enough cover behind me that I should not have been silhouted.

That could have been it.. the glare just didn't look right to him. Good luck. Hope you get another crack at him. Sounds like a dandy.
