good luck guys... you are making me jealous!

I don't use the rage. I am a big fan of the Crimson Talon Broadheads. absolutely devastating. I thought about trying the rage 2 blade.
They really do fly like fieldpoints?

yea they do Western. I even took 10 layers of cardboard and wrapped it in a furniture moving blanket to test it.
No problems at all.

do you have to continually check them when you take them out of your quiver to make sure they are not loose? I guess that is my only other fear... that they will open when on the rest....

well i'm using and older style quiver that actually only hold the cutting tip part. i dont push the BH all the way down. plus i figure i'm already gonna have an arrow knocked when he walks up.

Well, i did it and bought the 2 blade Rage yesterday. I will give it a try. The practice point does fly great. does the actual broadhead fly the same?

Erik, I had to try the actual broad head too. It flew just like my field points and the practice head:D

Well, went out Saturday morning, it was dry for the first 15 minutes then rained, hard, for the rest of the morning. Saw 3 bucks, a 3 pointer at about 40 yards, a spike and what I think might be a shooter;) see below. 4-5 does

Saturday evening, wasn't supposed to rain, but......it rained for the first 45 minutes and dripped on me the rest of the evening, had a doe at about 15 yards, but she spotted me and bolted (she was up wind, no shot at her anyways) a doe and two fawns and a nice 2 year old 8 pointer with a 5 pointer about 150 yards out.

Sunday morning at least it wasn't raining, but walking in to the stand I had to cut through some thick pines, and they got me nice and wet. Had a nice 2 year old (120ish) 10 pointer at 15 yards, he was with a spike and a 5 pointer, they never got closer than 30 yards, with no shots, and saw a couple more does through the leaves 100+ yards out.

Gotta apologize for the photos, captured them off of a video camera and in the first shot, the camera kept focusing on a branch, and the 2nd set, for whatever reason, the camera wouldn't focus on the deer when I tried to zoom in on him, thinking the rain was throwing off the focus, guess that is what you get when you buy a $150 camera instead of one of the more expensive ones, but if I drop this one out of the tree I won't feel as bad......Last picture is of the deer in velvet, the brow tine, which doesn't show up in the pictures I took yesterday is what clued me into what buck this is.........

Now I just need to figure out how to get on this guy, he won't score the best (I think around 140ish) but a deer that big body wise and the mass....makes it a no brainer for my area......

This one was filmed at about 250 yards, so I gotta believe if it wasn't raining, the footage taken yesterday should have been ALOT better......

Gonna go back into this area tonite, different stand and see if I can't see him a little bit closer.

awesome pics Wiaxle. Looks like you got a dandy. i love the that main beam. almost looks like its starting to web a little bit. it would have some good mass. and i like the length on those brow tines. he is defintely a shooter.

I know how ya feel about the camera situation. mine is almost 400 dollars but it has to at least make it till the 21st for my daughters b-day. then i can drop it out of the tree. hey maybe that will give me an excuse to buy the one i want.

Well in less than 24 hours i will be in the stand. i'm contemplating on taking a doe out early if one comes by. should be a good morning. we just had a high pressure system roll in this morning with a nice cold north wind which is perfect for my stands.

Well spent all day saturday around some soy bean fields and water saw a lot of deer but nothing came into range. Was about 40 yards from a nice 8pt prolly would go 80-90" but i didnt have my bow with me when i was scouting. All in all we saw probably 12 bucks and 5 does. Saw one really nice buck probably pushing 140" at night when we were leaving so it was a nice way to end opening day. Should be heading back up there this week i hope we will see how it turns out.
