Thanks everyone. No deer yet unfortunately....I almost had one but they ran off before I could get a shot. It was a doe with those warts on her and I was gonna shoot her just so those things wouldnt progress and make her suffer. Hopefully she will be back again this weekend...or maybe one of her buck friends lol

Hey Team-Well, I'm back from our company's meeting in Pittsburgh, PA. Everything went well and the highlight of the trip was the fact that this lifelong Steelers fan got to go to Heinz field! We met an older gentleman at the field who is a "Sr. Event Staff" member. He was gracious enough to let us in and take us on a GREAT tour. Lots and lots of pics. and the desire to go back for a game is stronger than ever. The only down side is the 9 1/2 hr. drive one way. Now I just have to get caught up with our other business and finish up my bow season prep. Hope all of you are doing well and those of you who have been out there hunting have been having fun!

P.S. The Panters play on the same field and have a game there this week. The staff was putting up all of the Panthers banners while we were there.

Been out about 10 times, have passed on a couple nice 130-150 bucks but the big guy I wanted is no where to be found. Just got my extra doe tag in the mail and the little guy is chomping at the bit to get out again. Nice turkey by the way Jenna, going out to see if I can't find an antelope for a couple hours before we go to the stands tonight.

Well guys & girls, in about an hour I'm out of here for the next 10 days. The big day is Saturdaythen Opening Day on Monday. I'll have my laptop along, but not sure what kind of reception I'll have.

5575 - that sounds incredible! - cant wait to see some pics of the one you wanted on the ground!
Brett - that sound pretty cool! - If you get the speed up high enough it can cut the trip time down:eek:well maybe not down far enough! - Maybe just get confused and go back out for a company meeting again I am sure they would understand confusion like that

Going to do some work on food plots, stands etc. this weekend.

Deer movement has been very slow this past week. I am hoping to get out early this weekend if the rain lets up. Gas has sky-rocketed so there aint gonna be no trips to the farm this week or next week:( Its $5.00 a gallon about an hour from here.....hopefully it dont wander up this way. It rose 40 cents in 2 days...so hopefully it stays at $3.99[:@]

Hey guys
What a hunt today, this guy had about 25-30 does in his harem. I made a 1 1/2 mile stalk around the backside of them as they fed along a hillside. Popped up the decoy, they were about 85 yds away and here he came full bore! I had my single pin set at 40 yds, so I counted in my head 70, 60, 50..I dropped the decoy and drew at the same time kinda I think! He slowed and turned broadside walking thinking, now what the hell??? And that was when I let loose with my arrow. It hit him a little back since he was walking fast I suppose. But that mechanical broadhead I shoot rips a big hole in em. He made a 150 yard death run circle in front of the girls and tipped over! I left him lay and ran into town to get my little guy out of school to come help me field dress him and haul him home.
Before I left for work I threw the tape on him quick and he grew a little from what I thought he'd go "that's always nice!" I had right at 16.5" high and 16" wide, my best goat to date! Thanks to my brothers for telling me about him, they'd saw him one day while they were haying this past week. The 12th is my lucky day, I think I've taken 3 bucks now on this day. Seems the rut just explodes about this time!

Congrats Chad! That is one beautiful antelope. Sounds like you had a very exciting hunt.


Jenna-I'm afraid the gas price increase has made it as far north as Illinois. It is right around $4.05 here and looking to go higher. It is absolutely asinine!

Thanks guys, you darn right I'm going after my buck now. He's in trouble, I didn't draw any other tags so I have lots of time to figure him out! I just put a tape to my goat and he went 81 4/8"
