Wanna see fresh sign....wait for Rob to post tonight's vid. We got blanked, but the first sit in the Walnut Stand was cool. I think I am on camera duties tomorrow. Friday I am going to hunt a real solid spot for the first time. Should be good. Good luck.

That place looks like it could be very productive. Hopefully you guys can get a glimpse of the buck that tore that tree up.
Last night I also found some good sign on the property that I have been getting all the pics on. I think I've got them pretty patterned now. You gotta love walking into to where you planned on setting a new stand and you see this...

Man the Doe on this new farm that I'm hunting have me pulling my hair out. I'm trying to break the ice with my first deer with a recurve. I never got a chance to scout this place and I hunted it 2 times. Its over run with Doe. The first time I set up on one end of the field and the deer come out on the other end. So yesterday I set up where they came out the first time and they came out where I was set up the other day[:@] I think I will hunt where I seen the nice buck last week in the AM. I should have kept my big mouth shut because the warm weather is back it looks[:@] Ducks open this weekend, I think I will hunt ducks in the am and deer in the pm. Ducks open in the north zone next weekend and I think I will head up to my camp in Pike county to hunt my honey hole for wood ducks! Great spot! Any of you Pa guys are welcome to join me next week if you like if its not to far to travel. My camp is near Pecks Pond on route 402 Bring plenty of shells and maybe we can do some deerhunting in the afternoon!!! Let me know it will be a good time!!!

Good morning gentleman! No luck last night. Had a doe and fawn come in to 26yds, but it was at last light and thought I would just let them pass by undisturbed. Well they ended up sticking around for another 30 minutes. Finally I heard them go down over the hill and that gave my the chance to go. Temps look like they will hit high 70's low 80's this weekend[:@][:'(]. I'll still hit it pretty heavy, I plan on hunting some oaks in the mornings and water in the evenings. We'll see what happens

What's up fellas.... Finally got some backstraps Sat. morning. She came in to 16yds and I sent a G5 striker rightat her. I didn't hear her crash so I ckecked the arrowwhich was covered in blood, marked the POI and headed back to thehouse to change and grab a bit to eat. Went back 2 hrs. later and found her within 20mins. I plan on taking a couple more does, but I'm ready for some bone now! She's a big old nanny that dressed out at 135lbs

Congrats Buckeyehntr5 nice doe !! I took my first shot this year with my recurve at a doe on Friday and the she ducked the arrow and it went right over her back[:@][]. Man hunting with the stick and string is tuff! but I'm not putting it down til I get a deer! That same day I had a decent 8pt walk right under my stand and he had no idea I was there! I was suppose to go out tomorrow but I got a call to go tuna fishing. Can't turn that down. Good Luck and now go get a nice Buck Buddy!! again CONGRATS!!!!!

Hey Fellas,

Sorry I have not posted for a while! Life has been crazy since I got back from my elk/buck hunt! Trying to wrap up the purchase of a new business, as well as my daughters birthday this weekend, etc. etc., I know you guys have the same types of stuff going on as well....

Anyways, I was not able to wrap my tag around any bone on my elk/buck hunt, but I had an incredible time and have been working on a journal for the hunt. Hopefully I will have it done soon, and I'll post it in here when I do. It was an awesome hunt and I got onto some huge bulls, but just could'nt get a clean shot opportunity. Not to worry though, as I have a late season archery buck hunt coming up next month during the deer rut! The hunt is for the western side of Oregon which is mostly Columbia Blacktail.

Looks like some cool weather is on it's way for the weekendLows in the low 30's! Should get the deer movin a little more... Can't wait! A couple more weeks and I start my RUT vacation. I've always wanted to take a buck on Oct. 31st and that's the day I start. I'll have around 8 - 10 days off
