W9ARcher here (formerly W9AR). I sent Rob a PM to try and get my name corrected. Didn't realize I had two logins until the admins pointed it out and killed off W9AR when I signed up for this contest.

I'm Gerry, 49 years old and I hunt in NW Wisconsin near Rice Lake. I'm shooting a Mathews SQ2 with Carbon Express Maximum Hunter arrows tipped with 85gr Thunderheads.

This is about my 12th year bow hunting with last year being a banner year with 4 bow kills and 6 gun kills. A couple of ok 8 pointers were put in the freezer and a lot of smaller bucks were left for this year.

I hunt about 800 acreas of private land with 12 other folks during gun season but it's only me and a farmer friend that bow hunt. This coming year I'm introducing bowhunting to 6 boy scouts and a couple of their fathers over Halloween so I have 6 weeks to get the monster before I share the great sport of archery with a new set of youth.

Just had my final league golf outing for the year tonight so it's time to put the clubs in the attic and get serious about zeroing in the bow.

Mike,
Where are you attending college? My son starts at UW Eau Claire in a week. Just curious if you hunt in the NW Wisconsin area. You could help me drag outthe bear I'm planning on taking the first week of September I've already told my son to keep his cell phone handy.

Bowfish - I shoot a Bowtech Allegiance w/ Thunderhead 125's.

Is the only one missing is PArookie? Or did I miss his post?

This is my 3rd year in the contest. One thing that happens, people check in and that's the last we hear from them. Please keep posting at least weekly, keep us informed to what is going on in your season. I think we have a pretty good team and look forward to the upcoming season.

I will have 2x setups this year. Haven't figured out quite yet which will be the primary bow and which will be the backup. The setups are as follows:

Spot Hogg Hunter Hogg-It
Sims S-Coil
Whisker Biscuit
Kwikee Combo Quiver
Gold Tip CAA 350's at about 458 grains
Using both Rage 2 blade 100's, and Slick Trick 100's. I will have both in the quiver.

08' Allegiance Hardwood Green HD @ 29.5" 70lbs
Spot Hogg Hogg-IT
Doinker 7" Hunter
Whisker Biscuit
Octane 1 piece
Gold Tip CAA 350's at 458 grains
Rage 100's, and Slick Trick 100's

Haven't figured which one I like more quite yet. [8D]

Hey Guys.....glad to meet everyone.

I'll be shooting my '05 PSE Vengeance @ 27 5/8 - 70lbs
XX75 2315'sw/ 3" VaneTec
Slick Trick 125 Magnums
Wisker Biscuit
Trophy Ridge 5 pin
S-Coil
Tru Ball Trailboss

I reworked my bow last spring, so this is the first hunting season for the broadheads, release, strings, and fletchings....I'm very excited to break it in ona NH deer.

No ideas for names yet....

As for Captain, I nominate Rick James. He's been around a long time and knows the in's and out's of everything. Plus I plan on picking his brain about shooting spots after hunting season, so I need him to be on my good side
